The first time I tasted this, I think I steeped it a bit too much and didn’t sweeten it right. So this is my second try I had it this morning after breakfast.
Color: It’s a nice medium green with yellow undertones.
Taste: It’s got the same smooth flavor of green tea with a definite hint of ginger and pear. The ginger is strong, but good strong. And the pear is light and flavorful. I happened to really love it, even though it was simple.
Preparation
Tazo – why? Why would you bag this stuff? I don’t care the other reviewers apparently liked this, it is just gross. It smells like perfumey rose powder or toilet water.
Preparation
I agree with @gmathis, this sound great for a relaxing bath. Perhaps if you bought a whole box of this, you should throw them in your bath tub to relieve some stress with a scented bath. It certainly seems like a better experiment than trying to brew it as tea again…
I bought this tea for those late nights when I’m reading a good book and I crave a cup of something hot, but I really don’t want a jolt of caffeine. That being said, I was pleasantly surprised at the subtleness of this full-leaf Mao Feng green tea.
The leaves are in great condition: whole, for the most part, and they have a distinct (though soft) smell of freshly cut grass.
After four minutes in 180ºF water, I get a straightforward cup of green tea. Sure, it lacks those sweet, buttery, almond notes that a great green tea should have, but it makes up for it with a subtle, vegetative taste with a gentle sweetness. It’s far from unpleasant, but it does leave me wanting more. It’s still something that I’d buy again, if only for the convenience.
Preparation
It’s a tea I drink at work – I work at Starbucks, and don’t bother bringing my own teas because I don’t usually have time to steep it properly, or even finish a cup! ;) This one is very sweet, with a vanilla and apple taste. Too much of it makes me feel nauseous, though – or maybe it’s the job?
Preparation
A must if you have a steam wand at your disposal, or if you plan to heat milk for a chai latte! However, as it is concentrate, it will not keep for much more than a week so it should be consumed within that timeframe. Cozy and comforting, perfect for a chilly day!
I thought I’d give Tazo another tasting but this will probably be the last time I do so. Definitely not my cup of tea. The theme for all of their teas seems to be tartness or bitterness in this case with beautiful coloring and not much else. This morning blend has bold flavor, a bit too bold for me and the addition of milk, honey or sugar does help but I don’t want to drown out my tea flavor with such additions. I wouldn’t recommend this tea to anyone with similar taste as me. For everyone else, check more reviews and be cautious.
Great anytime tea! I found this at starbucks to add to my green tea collection and I love it. The spearmint taste gives it a little kick. I drink it plain, however I would think that adding a little lemon and splenda would give the tea a complete make over! I seep this tea for about 30-50 seconds. Enjoy!
Preparation
I read the reviews for this tea and had a good laugh and thought to myself, “it can’t be THAT bad can it?” For a tea that was this unanimously disliked, I should have trusted my fellow steepsters. After drinking a cup I felt almost ashamed of myself for trying it. Tartness and citrus to the max. I reviewed Tazo’s passion fruit tea last week and thought that was too sour. If you’re into this kind of taste, be my guest but be cautious and make sure to read all the reviews to get a better idea of what you’re buying.
