This is the tea that brought me to this site, to find out why my
half-and-half had gone awry when mixed with it. I found my answer, and while researching was surprised to see the majority of positive reviews.
My first sip of this tea was not what I was expecting, thinking then that it would taste as fruity as it smelled. But now, after my third cup of it this week, Passion is starting to grow on me.
I now take the bag out after a few minutes of steeping, instead of sipping with the bag left in place as I had done before. I also add a sparing amount of sweetener and it turns the pungent sour into something sweet and irresistible.
On the other hand, I drink this tea in the evening and would rather not add anything to it (like excess carbs I don’t need before bed), but I am imagining it as a great afternoon iced treat, easily consumed like fruity confection.
Preparation
This one scared me. When I bought it I thougt “Chamomile is great!” Then when I opened the box it was very reminiscent of licorice twist by DT, with which I had a run in with earlier. . . But once brewed it wasn’t half bad, very chamomile. And it definitely made me want to go to bed!
I find you have to extend the steep time with Tazo full leaf though.
Preparation
This tea smells fantastic, and that is about all it has going for it. I have tried this tea many ways, and the most palatable is iced sweetened with honey. The bitter undertones ruin this one for me. Agave and sugar were not enough to fix it, only the honey worked.
This is probably the best tea i’ve ever tasted by Tazo. I was slightly apprehensive about having to commit again to another whole box of Tazo tea due to the first box I ever bought being absolutely terrible. (Tazo Passion) I can definitely taste the cocoa in it which is delicious, to say the least. I am looking forward to test the “focus” of this tea when it comes time for college finals!
Preparation
I think I may have found my new favorite tea from Tazo. I stumbled upon this tea at the local Target isle and what stood out the most were the graphics on the box. I kid you not, the first thing that came to my mind upon drinking this was that this must be what unicorn piss tastes like. The blend of lemon notes, rose petals, and valerian root seem to fuse together to create a deliciously harmonious balance. Also the fact that there’s no caffeine present means you can drink as many cups of it as you want and won’t have to worry about the after effects of too much caffeine. Bravo Tazo. You made a spectacular tea that I’ll definitely be buying from now on.
My illness has left me home for the whole day. I’m a busy body and very restless today. But, I get up to do something and then I get exhausted. So, I spent 30 minutes hunting through boxes for a book I read 5 years ago and want to read again. I can’t find it. So, I made tea and put on another girly movie.
I’m hoping this tea will help me relax, tomorrow I should feel a bit better and I can accomplish some stuff tomorrow.
I like this tea, I think it’s inappropriately named however. It’s more apple and cinnamon than vanilla. Which is why I felt compelled to purchase and actual Vanilla Rooibos tea. I’m bored with my collection at the moment. Then again I’m bored with EVERYTHING today!!!!! I just want to get up and go for a hike or even just do some laundry.
I had been eyeing this one for a bit now. I must admit the price swayed me for awhile. But, my husband cancelled our plans to go out with his old high school friend, so in the midst of a hissy fit I finally bought it. lol
I love rooibos in the evening. I’m really not getting much of a vanilla from it though. Apple and cinnamon come through quite a bit, the spice is actually a little strong. It is quite nice though, I will buy it again… next time I throw a hissy fit. ;)
Preparation
Generally I like Tazo teas, but this is just too bitter. I only drink it on days when I don’t want coffee in the morning, so I will finish the box because I don’t want to waste it. It’s not a bad tea, just a tad plain, and the last few sips always make me gag a little bit. I won’t buy it again.
I don’t think I’ll ever have this tea hot – one of the reasons I bought it was to make my own Passion Tea Lemonade. Toss in a bit of tangy sour lemonade with this and a bit of rock sugar and you have yourself a party! :)
Preparation
/sigh/ I forgot to bring enough tea whilst visiting my parents. I am now raiding their stash of teabags to find some good blacks for the mornings. This isn’t bad, I’ve had it before. Not a whole lot of “deep” flavors here, but it’s nice.
Preparation
After so long, I finally got to have one of these as a treat. I was excited and ordered it expecting to find a good (not great) earl grey with steamed milk.
It was terrible. It was like the service didn’t even know how to prepare it. They kept the tea bag in the cup while preparing it and they didn’t give it enough time to steep before mixing in the steamed milk. Instead they poured in the steamed milk right away. When I got it cooled down enough so that I could drink it, all it tasted like was sweet milky paper with a hint of bad bergamot.
I really need to find a good steamer/frother of my own so that I can just have my own tea lattes when I want them. There was no reason for them not to steep the tea for three or four minutes and then take the bag out before making the rest of the drink. There was nobody there but our small group.
I absolutely love this tea! The fragrance calls to me. It absolutely drapes your soul in warmth and happiness. Now that being said. It has a wonderful peppery orange flavor. Guaranteed to wake you up in the morning (if that is what you are looking for). I am not very sensitive to caffeine however. I personally drink this any time of the day. Its great iced after brewing also! Which for me is really the mark of a fantastically versatile tea. =)
I have replaced my recently discontinued tea with this tea. I used to drink Lipton Orange and Spice tea. It was the first tea I drank when I was a little girl. My mother used to make it when I didn’t feel well.
Preparation
This was not very good in my opinion. I couldn’t quite put my finger on the flavor in the tea that I didn’t like. Then I read what is in it. Its the peach!!! Peach in tea always tastes so artificial to me. I don’t know what it is about that but I really don’t like it. Its been the case in every single peach tea that I have ever tried. I will not get this again.
Not sure of the wisdom of drinking this right before bed, but I swear this teabag just jumped right into my hand when I reached into the cupboard, so how could I resist? ;)
I put a bit too much honey into it, so it’s a bit too sweet (I can’t believe I said that, because I LOVE sweet tea – but this is a bit too much, even for me) but fortunately, the spice is peeking through the haze of sweetness, and overall it’s enjoyable on a cold, rainy night. ETA – the super pepper notes that I rebelled against in my previous tasting, appears to be hidden somewhat by all the sweetness. So I guess all this honey balanced it out a little.
EETA: Ugh, disregard, the super pepper has returned. :/
