I really like this tea. It’s light and refreshing, and I love the hint of lime. It’s sweet by itself, without being cloying, and I don’t add anything to it. I taste the mint and lime most of all, with a smooth finish of cucumber. It’s subtle, but all the flavors are definitely there. Yum!
Preparation
I feel like maybe I judged this tea too quickly. Let my expectations of what it would taste like influence my opinion. I made some this morning and it tasted… well it tasted good! Just an extra minute and a dash of sugar and this tea is pretty much unrecognizable from the yuck it was when I first made it. Its not a replacement for White Peach, but I’ll be damned if it isn’t giving its best.
Preparation
This tea makes me sad. Maybe its the weird aftertaste all Tazo teas seems to have. Maybe its the fact that they apparently changed it. The description states that my box of ‘Berryblossom White’ has huckleberries instead of blueberries. Maybe its the fact that Tazo dares taint my white tea with bitter black tea. I digress.
Nevertheless, I have been searching for a cheap box of bagged whites that I can use to keep from going broke. I suppose this will have to do for now. Its drinkable, and when you’re a poor college student, sometimes that’s all that matters.
Preparation
You know, this really isn’t THAT bad. I get mostly sweet spearmint with a squeeze of lemon. The lemongrass is sort of there, trying to make up its mind whether or not to stay, and as long as you steep this in the right parameters, the base behaves. Maybe it’s because my bags are a little older, but the base has been turning bitter for me very easily.
Would I buy it again? No, but finishing off my last few bags won’t be an issue either.
In an interesting turn of events, several tins of Tazo materialized next to the rack of Bigelow tea boxes at my office coffee station this morning. Tazo isn’t tea that I would normally seek out and purchase, so this is a chance for some new reviews.
Unfortunately I can’t rate this one very high. It sounded like the most promising contender at first, but there’s just something off about it. I like licorice, and there’s even part of a sip where things get very licorice-y that I enjoy, but there’s something really muddled before it gets there. It’s earthy in a bad way, like stepped-on wet leaves. There’s some nice apple notes in there, but very little vanilla flavor. The flavors seem to all be good on their own, but they just aren’t playing nicely with each other here.
I think this is one of my favorite Tazo tisanes. I have both the typical “paper” bags and the “loose leaf in mesh” bags. I vastly prefer the loose leaf version!
The taste is something similar to Red Zinger of decades ago; a lovely mix of tart and red. The color is so deep, I find myself experiencing it as a thickness on my tongue, though I know that’s only a trick of the mind.
This tisane goes beyond what I typically expect and takes me to a mindset of luxury and rich indulgence.
An extra bonus – I have a food aversion involving mango. This tisane HAS mango (under “tropical flavors”). I can drink it without issue; the mango flavoring is so subtly and softly present that – on the rare occasion I DO notice it – I easily move past with a new flavor presenting itself.
Preparation
I ordered tea at a restaurant today and picked a bag of this out of the basket. Good ol’ stand by.
After brewing this up in my cup I was a bit apprehensive because there was just something unusual about it. When I took a sip I definitely got a non-Earl Greyish flavour. Lavender. There was lavender in this tea. Hmmmmm. I dislike lavender.
So I read the package the tea came in and it read something along the lines of “essence of bergamot lavender”. I was not aware the bergamot contained lavender.
Anyway, I think this must have been some kind of special addition, or this tea has changed greatly since I last had it. Who knows…? I am fairly sure this tea never had lavender before.
I still drank it. Lunch was delicious otherwise.
I hate being surprised by junk additions to my Earl Grey. I’ve never noticed lavender in a Tazo EG either. Now I’m afraid to have another.
Currently drinking an Earl Grey latte from Starbucks. A relatives school sells gift cards as a fundraiser (the school keeps a certain percentage of money for every gift card they sell). So my mom is constantly buying me Starbucks gifts cards, which I love, but I currently have 4 of them.
Back to the latte, it is delicious. Starbucks is one of my favorites places to get an Earl Grey latte. The plain Tazo Earl Grey tea is not my favorite, but it makes a great latte. It is creamy, sweet, with a strong bergamot flavour, just heavenly. I wish there was a company that would sell a bergamot flavour syrup – if anyone knows of one, let me know – I would put it in everything.

Ok, I’ll keep this short and sweet. I LOVE Jasmine Dragon Pearls with an unholy passion. I can’t comprehend anyone that doesn’t love them. These guys smell jasminey in my cup and taste great! As long as I don’t let it steep too long I have nver been disappointed in any JPs from any shop or company. Maybe not 100% as good as my Ovation ones but very close….so yum!
Preparation
I’m not sure what made me reach for this tea tonight, probably that it was at the front of my cupboard honestly. And I figured that with a crazy past couple of days I could use a ‘lulling’ cup of tea. I like this one, it’s not a bad tea, just a little too much ‘herby’ taste. It does have a nice floral note to it, of rose and lavender. It also gives me that nice warm feeling inside, which must be from the licorice.
-Standard teabag.
-Teabag smells sharply of lemon and orange with spicy licorice. Tea liquor aroma is floral with rose and lavender noticeable.
-Tea liquor is a thick golden yellow color.
-Light floral herb and licorice flavor with a soft citrusy finish.
-Best with sweetener.
-Good tea. Soothing cup with a warming feeling. Herb aftertaste.
Preparation
This was my favorite tea for years. Every morning I would sip on this and it would make things right in the world. Tazo recently changed their packaging of this product…it looks sweet! However, after brewing a bag in the new packages I discovered that not only has Tazo replaced the packaging but it changed the blend. Too much lemongrass…it’s nasty! I hope Tazo changes back soon…
I love love love this tea. It’s so soothing and light. Not a huge fan of Tazo or of green tea usually, but this one is pretty awesome as a mid-morning cuppa. Lotus has a very nice, soft, floral vibe to it that makes me feel like everything is going to be okay.
So there was a free box of this in the kitchen area at work so I took a couple of bags to try, although white tea is usually not my preference.
I can taste the lime in this but the rest of the flavour is pretty unpleasant. Bitter and sour. And I don’t think it’s just because white is not my normal cup of tea (pun intended). It’s possible I steeped it for too long, but I don’t know that that would have helped very much. I steeped it at as low a temperature as my water heater goes so it can’t be that. I don’t know. I don’t like this tea and I will not be having it again. I’m contemplating pouring out this mug.
ETA: Added another spoonful of sugar and that cut down the bitterness. Still, there’s now so much sugar in this blend that it’s basically unrecognizable now so I’ll not up the rating too much.
