Tazo might want to rename this one. “Licorice Spice Chai” seems far more appropriate, since that’s the main flavor here. I can smell pumpkin, but that’s about it; everything else is licorice. Even the other spices take a backseat to it. Cloves, ginger, cinnamon, all drowned out by licorice.
Don’t get me wrong; I love licorice. The black jellybeans always go first. However, it’s not really what I’m looking for in a pumpkin spice tea. Probably not going to get this one again.
…in the meantime I have two boxes to work through since it was on sale. /sigh
This does not need a five minute steep time.
It’s fruity, it’s tropical, it’s got kick from the hibiscus. And a mouthful like juice. I really liked this one but it was almost too much to handle after half a cup.
No need to double up on teabags for a 16oz mug either.
Tart, bitter, sour, falsely orangey, gross. I tried adding sugar, but then it became sickeningly sweet. Undrinkable. There is no one I like so little that I would even give this away. It is destined for the compost pile I do believe.
Flavors: Artificial, Bitter, Sour, Tart
I went by the Art Museum, and I was fairly excited about the blend because Starbucks finally had an oolong! The initial seconds are actually really good, but this tea over steeps way too easily. I get all notes and they all balance each other out until the steeping time reaches beyond a minute. I would have rated this higher if I took the bag out sooner, but of what I enjoyed, it was a pretty good oolong.
Preparation
I love this tea! Since I first tried it I have been drinking it often before bed, it’s one of my go to teas for the evening now.
Dry, it smells most strongly of mint and lemon.
Steeped, it smells, sweet, floral, honey.
I recommend this tea sweetened with honey, and is also good with milk.
I usually like my teas stronger so I add another bag or use les water, especially when adding milk.
Flavors: Floral, Honey, Lemon
Preparation
Contrary to the other reviews I have read about this tea, I actually really enjoy it! I am caffeine-sensitive but love a cup of tea to wake me up in the morning and this tea is perfect for me. The tartness of the orange is just enough to make me feel bright and awake. I was worried that like some fruit teas, the orange would taste artificial and sugary but this orange is a great tart, herbal infusion. It’s also a great alternative to lemon tea, if you want something slightly less tart but with all the citrusy goodness! My favorite morning caffeine-free tea.
I’m trying to be impartial when it comes to Tazo tea but it’s not easy since reading that they are one of the tea companies who allegedly don’t rinse their tea leaves very well, hence leaving chemicals behind for us to ingest when we drink their tea. For that reason, I tend not to drink this brand. However, I was at Boston Pizza today for lunch and this was their offering for green tea. It was mild and not bitter so that that was nice and it had a hint of spearmint which I enjoyed. My cousin used to work for Starbucks years ago and he used to get me good deals on Tazo tea so I drank a lot of it back then but now I pass it over for other ones that I prefer. I do like this one though. Pretty good!
Flavors: Green, Spearmint
The version I’m reviewing is the re-released one. Again, I’m a sucker for ginger, and that’s the dominant flavor. The lemon grass adds a sweet, mild tartness that I actually like with the ginger. The green tea provides a fresh body for the ginger, but is slightly overwhelmed again by the ginger itself. You know for sure that you are drinking a green tea, but again, the ginger is dominant. I like this one on it’s own or with honey, and it’s actually pretty good for when I’m sick.
Definitely not the best tea I’ve had, albeit enjoyable nevertheless.
Flavors: Ginger, Green, Lemongrass

I went to Boston Pizza and asked for a green tea and this is what I was given. Not a huge fan. Tasted odd to me. A little bitter and very “plant” like. I’ve read that Tazo is bad for not rinsing their tea leaves properly so this is a brand that I tend to shy away from usually. I re-steeped the bag and it was better when weaker but this isn’t a tea I would ever search out and buy.
Flavors: Green, Vegetal
I remember getting this tea before at the caf at work. Did they serve it to you with the tea bag in the water? I remember this being decent for a bagged green tea but what I did was pour boiling water in a cup, let it sit for 15 min, then steeped for about 30-60 sec.
I feel bad even mentioning this cause I know you know how to make your green teas lol.
Hi Kristal. It did not come with the tea bag in the water. I did that myself. I always drink my tea, bag in. I never take the bag out until the tea is finished and I know with green tea, that can mean terrible bitterness. I’ve been liking my teas stronger lately but this one was just so grassy tasting. Reminded me of fresh-cut grass clippings that had been soaked in hot water. I know the bitterness was my own fault for over-steeping it. Depending on the brand, some green teas are more forgiving than others. This one definitely was not!
I didn’t purchase a whole box of this tea, I picked it out of a variety. Usually ginger has a distinct aroma and taste, but the flavor in this is fairly light. I could smell it more than I can taste it. I couldn’t sense the “sweet note of pear”, but I did taste a very slight “dirt” aftertaste. Not a great tea for me.
Flavors: Dirt, Ginger

Tazo, I want to like your tea. I really do. This smelled great. Tasted unsweetened the taste of sweet cinnamon didn’t hit once, except for a faint, teasing aftertaste. But I thought I liked the aftertaste.
So I laughed and thought, “Mrs. Tazo, you’re trying to seduce me. Aren’t you?” But I didn’t say that out loud because my family thinks I’m weird enough as it is.
Adding just a half-packet of monkfruit in this made it sweet. In fact, too sweet. I sort of thought I liked it for a while…until I got through half the cup, left it sitting there for a while, and realized that I really did not have any desire to finish this tea.
As someone previously mentioned, a better cinnamon tea is the Hot Cinnamon Spice by Harney and Sons.
