Drinking Lipton Echinacea – my go-to tea when I have a cold, and sometimes when I don’t. It’s sold out of Unilever in Turkey, I’ve never seen it anywhere else but in Israel. Love the combination of herbs, some of which I don’t like when they’re dominant. The blend works. Added a wee bit of wildflower honey.
Preparation
Given to me at work. Paper envelope – bad idea. Tag taped to the bag – really bad idea. The dust in the bag did not seem to expand when brewed. Couldn’t really pick out the green tea in the blend, maybe because it is decaf. The honey dominates, which is odd as it isn’t listed as an ingredient. Didn’t taste lemon. There was an odd mint taste. Not sure if it supposed to be there or if the envelope had been stored with a mint tea. I would drink this again if someone offered it to me but I wouldn’t buy a box. Wasn’t horrible, just very ordinary.
I had a sweet tea urge at work, and I forgot to bring my own from work. I know I have had Lipton’s aat numerous restaurants. Well I am done with my relationship with Lipton’s.
For my sweet tea needs, I always prefer Luzianne, or a nice brisk black tea. Lipton’s bagged tea made into iced tea is so medicore, dull, and no layers to flavor. My mom always hated Lipton’s. Now I see why! It isn’t take one sip and spit out kind of tea. But I would prefer iced water to it.
Preparation
Actually the Diet version but I don’t feel like creating a new listing – besides I have reviewed it here before.
I kind of feel like Roswell Strange and her Nestea. This is just so simple to grab and drink cold. If it weren’t for this I would have drank very little even resembling tea of late. At least I like it even if it’s barely tea. Mostly it tastes like grapefruit.
It is a good thing I like this, its as close to tea as I have had since yesterday afternoon. I sat with my wife at her craft show booth last night and all day today. I am such a good husband – I have been tracking a package of teaware as it traversed the continent. It arrived today without me being present. It was setting next to the garage when I got home. So I have my first Yixing and a small clear teapot for visual teas. To late for caffeine tonight. Depending on what my wife has planned for me tomorrow, I may have to wait until Monday to try them out. Sigh, but in a happy anticipating way.
TTF: yeah, that was a little self promotion. Honestly it was tough leaving this morning knowing according to FedEX tracking it was going to arrive today.
Lala: She makes doll clothes that fit American Girl sized dolls. She also made some stuffed animals.
Suziqzer – looks like you posted while I was tying. I’ve already scrubbed my glass pot and began seasoning the yixing. I’m ready.
The weather yesterday was a little too breezy here yesterday without a jacket. Of course I didn’t wear one. You can remind me of that later if I complain of a sore throat. :)
Apparently I haven’t had this in 3 years. The diet version sort of jumped into my cart at the store today. Very sweet. Nicely citrus. Supposedly has tea. Forgive me. I know I’m weak but I like this stuff.
I know I can’t even pronounce most of what is listed in the ingredients. I know this doesn’t taste much like tea. I know it is over sweetened. I know it is more soft drink than tea. I know there is no real citrus in it. I just can’t help myself. Dog gone it I like this stuff and I am not ashamed to admit it. It is cold and refreshing and especially handy when I am too lazy to accomplish more than twisting the cap off the bottle. Tea is listed as an ingredient, so I can almost convince myself this is better for me than the Dr. Pepper I almost grabbed.
You had me up until “It’s more soft drink than tea”, don’t agree. I used to love this… it’s amazing how your tastes change toward one thing when you taste something better.
Well my husband and I got all dolled up last night and headed out to my new dental office’s Christmas party (I just took a business manager position with this office and am transitioning into the position while finishing up some things at the dental office I had been working… January I will be completely transitioned into the new office. It was very nice to be invited to this Christmas party and it gave me an opportunity to meet all the staff That being said we were at a very upscale restaurant that makes wonderful food and brings it to you with artistic designs on your plate. After cocktails, dinner and dessert I decided to have a cup of tea expecting a decent cup of fine tea…. NOPE I was brought a tea pot with a bag of Lipton in it!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I couldn’t believe such an upscale restaurant served LIPTON!!!! My husband jokingly said to me that I have much finer teas at home :) All in all it was a great time but I had to come home to have a decent cup of tea!
Most restaurants are effin CLUELESS when it comes to tea. Even those stocking loose teas keep them in clear jars on display, so the light can wreck and stale them … sigh.
Good luck in your new position! And I know what you mean about how disappointing it is when a restaurant has a less than thoughtful tea selection. I posted before about a DINER in my area that has a really great selection of loose leaf in pyramid bag Mighty Leaf tea, and it makes it the place I will go out of my way to patronize. It’s the little details :)
Bleh!
I’ve been away all weekend on family get together thing and it’s on the other end of the country. My parents had opted for a slightly alternative route than the obvious one and it involved a 45 minute ferry-trip.
This is what they served in the cafeteria there.
It was heavily perfumed and tasted mostly of lemon with a backdrop of bergamot. It was a rather dusty and old sort of flavour. Drinkable, I guess, and I’ve certainly had worse, but not really particularly inspiring.
I was however finding it a rather nice break in the travelling experience and as such it served its purpose quite nicely.
Also, I’m going to be scarce on Steepster for a few days. My 52tea Christmas package hasn’t arrived yet and I don’t want any spoilers about the contents, so I’ll be steering clear of the Dashboard until I’ve got it. (If it’s the one that was delivered to the package pick-up place in Copenhagen by mistake, it shouldn’t take very long)

Surprisingly good berry flavor. This was a gift from a co-worker. This is much better than I thought it would be. Smooth black tea with berry flavor. Bet this would be good with cream and sugar too. Yum.
