172 Tasting Notes
First time trying an alcohol-flavored tea, and while I’m currently on day 40 of my 90-day alcohol-free cleanse, I thought this would be a nice tea to curb the craving. I was not disappointed. The subtle yet noticeable hints of rum are sweet and pleasant, bringing warmth to the senses and joy to the soul (well, at least mine). This could almost pass for a dessert tea with the sweetness of the rum and would definitely pair well with a bonbon.
Flavors: Rum, Sweet
A delicious black tea! Reminds me something of the black tea I drank back in Russia, so the memories poured in with every sip. The sweet scent of the currant was warm and inviting, and the tea was strong and vibrant without being too overpowering. Overall, a success!
Flavors: Black Currant, Sweet
My oh my, I absolutely adore this tea! I wanted something light and herbal for the evening without sacrificing taste and flavor, and this tea certainly delivered! The peach and coconut flavors compliment each other just right and the overall combination made this one of my favorite white teas to date.
Flavors: Coconut, Fruity, Peach, Sweet
This is my first time trying a violet tea, so I really didn’t know what to expect. As others have said before, it does have a soapy/perfumy scent to it, but it’s not unpleasant.
Considering this is my first violet tea, I had no idea what it would taste like – but I really like it! It’s not too overpowering with the scent/flavor, but enough to where it reminds you, “Hey, I’m a violet tea!” Seems like this would also be a really good cold/iced tea.
Overall I really liked this one!
Flavors: Perfume, Rose, Soap, Violet
I was a little hesitant to try this tea because I had purchased it something like 7 years ago, and it wasn’t exactly in a sealed container. However, at the risk of my stomach, I had a large cup anyway. As of writing this I am still feeling fine, which will hopefully continue.
Now, to the tea. Very bold and caffeinated, which is what I hoped for and expected from this English Breakfast blend. I used half of a tea ball in a very large tea cup (probably about 3 actual measuring cups’ worth), and it only took that much tea to leave gradual stain marks on the side of the cup. So, a little definitely goes a long way.
I can taste some earthy flavors/scents within this tea. Overall, it is very nice if you’re looking for something akin to coffee in terms of boldness and caffeine.
Preparation
Loved this tea! I was weary of the lavender at first, but it’s not overwhelming at all. The bergamot really works well. To be fair, I absolutely adore earl gray teas, so putting bergamot in any tea can’t really go wrong for me. All of the flavors of this tea go really well together.
