Tea #7 from Traveling Tea Box C

Unfortunately, I’m sampling things at a much slower pace than I would like. I’ll have to cut my sampling short, but I’ll definitely grab samples of ones I’m interested in.

This one sounds really interesting, and I generally enjoy white teas. Dry, this one smells really weird. Almost a sour smell, but it hasn’t gone bad. No worries, its super tasty! The yogurt isn’t really noticeably there, but I really love the melon (honeydew, I would say) and the white tea together. I think I’ll be keeping this one!

drank Pistachio Cream by DAVIDsTEA

Tea #6 from Traveling Tea Box C

Pistachio ice cream is one of my favorite ice creams. I was definitely curious about this one when I saw it in the box. Then I noticed that it’s an herbal with Mulberry Magic as it’s base! I really like Mulberry Magic, and was curious how it would work with the pistachio flavor.

I really like this one! The mulberry flavors are toned down, but still add a nice solid base, and add to the creaminess factor. And the pistachio flavor is very nice as well. Clearly present, clearly pistachio, without tasting weird or being over powering. And the whole thing is definitely creamy! I think I like this more than plain Mulberry Magic. This was in one of the small sample packs. I used about half for my sample, and I think I’m going to claim the last teaspoon unless anyone on the list dearly wants to try it.

I like this one more too. :D

I saw your note about it after I had made this one! I’m definitely tempted to look into getting more of this

Tea #5 for Traveling Tea Box C

I’m always hesitant about green teas. On one hand, I have some I absolutely love, but on the other, most I’ve tried have not been very tasty to me. However, this one had such an interesting name that I even give it the chance to open the bag and take a quick sniff. And it smelled amazing! I was scared that if I brewed it hot, the green would make everything taste terrible, or the cherry would make everything tart or cough syrup flavor, or the rose would be way too floral. You can see how finicky I am with greens!

So instead, I cold brewed this one over night. There wasn’t much left of this one, and I used up what was left. I tried to make the water about the right amount, but it still ended up a bit weak. I could still taste it though! My first thought with this was “Wow! This tastes like bubblegum!” But as I sipped more, I could pick apart the flavors. There’s the green tea base, here’s the rose adding some floral notes, there’s the cherry, not cough syrup flavored. This is one that I would have loved more of.

Preparation
Iced 8 min or more

I’m so weird with green teas too. Either they’re too vegetal or the flavouring doesn’t go well with a green base or I’ll randomly like something that seems to work haha.

Emilie

It seems like we have a lot of tea tastes in common!

drank S'mores Genmaicha by 52teas

Tea #4 for Traveling Tea Box

This one smells…interesting in the bag. Its weirdly sweet and savory. Whatever that smell is though, its gone once its steeped. The main flavor here is the genmaicha. I can’t say I would consider this s’mores at all. I think I can get a bit of a marshmallow flavor, but I’m really not tasting the chocolate. 52teas always seem to be really amazing or no flavor at all for me

Fjellrev

Yeah, I find 52teas to be really hit or miss. Too bad this one didn’t work out for you.

Tea #3 for Traveling Tea Box C

I brewed this one up quickly this morning to drink while studying. I definitely agree with others that there seems to be some smokiness in the base. I also couldn’t get much blueberry in this one

Tea #2 from Traveling Tea Box C

I didn’t expect to get another tea in last night, as I work until midnight, but the entire campus locked down due to a nearby crime scene and my boss drove me home from work.It was waaaay too late for caffeine, so I decided to go for one of the caffeine free options. This one had a really intriguing name and a tasty sounding list of ingredients.

It smells strongly like rooibos, both dry and steeping. If you’re put off by that smell, avoid this one. It definitely tastes like rooibos as well. It’s the predominant flavor. I didn’t get a lot of vanilla. It seemed to more so smooth out the tea overall. I got the cinnamon as a slight tingle in the back of my throat. This is one that I would like to try different times and temperatures on to see what I get. I may keep this one.

205 °F / 96 °C 4 min, 30 sec

drank S'mores Chai by 52teas

Tea #1 from Traveling Tea Box C

After digging out all the tea packed in the box, this one caught my attention (I also noticed the s’mores genmaicha which I plan on trying tomorrow). I set this one to steeping, and then got distracted with explaining the monstrous pile of tea to my roommate, so I have no clue how long this steeped.

I took a sip, and got a generic spicy chai flavor. I went to add some milk aaaaannnnd, we have no milk. I feel like milk probably brings out the s’mores flavor, because I couldn’t taste it. I would try again later with milk, but there are just so many other teas to try!

drank Green Jasmine by Teas' Tea

It’s been a while since I’ve reviewed anything on here! I’ve been really busy with my EMT class, and its finally coming to an end. Monday is the final, and then I just have clinicals. The review for the final is a 90 page word document!

However, I wanted to take a break to talk about this and a few other things. I won this, a bottle of Half & Half Green tea with Lemonade, and a Tea’s Tea bag from Awkward Soul through her giveaway on her Oolong Owl blog. Thanks so much, Awkward Soul and Tea’s Tea! I’ve already had the tea with lemonade. I wasn’t sure if I should make a new thing just for that, so I’ll just say my thoughts here first. I enjoyed it! I’ve had a few different brands of tea with lemonade. This one was pretty good and seemed less in your face sugary, though still sweet. There wasn’t anything that reeeally stood out, but I still enjoyed it.

As for this tea, I was really surprised and enjoyed it a lot! Bottled/canned teas have trained me to expect things that are slightly tea flavored, but mostlt sugar and juice. Even though this says “unsweetened” in big letters right across the top, I was still braced for a sugar punch to the face. I was so surprised it almost tasted bad at first, because I wasn’t expecting it! After I got over that shock, I was able to actually try the tea. The green tea is the main flavor to me. The jasmine is there, but subtle. It’s handled well and not overwhelming at all, for those people who are sensitive to floral flavors. Overall, I really enjoyed this! I’ll have to look into more bottled teas, and see if anywhere nearby sells Tea’s Tea products

Veronica

Good luck with your final!

Emilie

Thanks!

Bio

I’ve lived in Hawaii, Mississippi, Colorado, Maryland, Texas, California, and Oklahoma. I’m just waiting to see where we end up next!

My preferences are towards black and oolong teas but I love trying new and/or weird teas! I’m finally learning to enjoy green tea.

We recently moved to about 6500 feet above sea level and I’m still trying to get the hang of the lower boiling point! Any tips would be appreciated :)

I really love swapping, so if anything in my cupboard catches your eye, please let me know!
