Cold brewed! This one is sweet but not overly so. I definitely get the pineapple, and a general tropical feel. I think I prefer this one cold to warm!

I’ve had this sample forever and never tried it. I decided to finally go with it for my morning cup. I must have not used enough leaves, because I could get hints of tea but it was just really weak. I have enough for one more cup, so I will try again soon.

drank Caramel Matcha by Red Leaf Tea
448 tasting notes

Backlog: This is my first flavored matcha! Unfortunately I don’t really have blender access. So I put some of this and some milk in a seal able cup and shook it up! I feel like I put in much more than the required amount, but it tasted like milk up until I added a bunch in. I’m not sure how accurate of a representation this is since I probably committed some horrible taboo by doing all that. Anyway, this was reeeeally sweet. I don’t know if I would say that I got caramel exactly, but definitely lots of sweetness, almost to the point of too sweet. I would like to compare other flavors, and try different methods, to see how well I did with this one.

I’ve had trouble tasting some of the flavors, too. I add more than it calls for as well. I also found that it blended better and had a stronger flavor once I started first mixing the matcha with hot water (about 175° and I blend it with my milk frother thingy) and then add ice and milk and shake it.

I have found that cold steeping the matcha in milk overnight and THEN shaking it up makes a more flavorful and less chalky beverage :)

If you can get your hands on a milk frother, they work wonders with matcha

Thanks for all the advice! I’ll have to try these out and see what works for me.
TeaBrat, I may get a milk frother. I always thought they were giant pieces of kitchen equipment, but I just looked them up on amazon and I really like the little handheld ones!

drank Mango Lassi by Butiki Teas

TTB Tea 14: I tried this one both hot and cold brewed. I like both, but I enjoy the cold brewed better. The mango comes out a little more, and the rooibos actually contributes to the flavor instead of drowning it out. The mango flavor isn’t intense, but tasty.

TTB Tea 13: I picked this one for my studying before the organic chemistry test tomorrow. I feel as though it was a good choice! The flavor is very nice without being astringent or bitter. It was malty, a little chocolatey, and rich without any added flavors. And it gave me a nice caffeine boost!

TTB Tea 12: Cold brewed this one, it was very tasty! The rooibos taste actually works with the flavors, though I’m not getting much coconut flavor in this one, which I would like more of.

Iced 8 min or more

drank Peach Oolong by Catherine's Corner

TTB Tea 10: This was going to be my first tea after returning from spring break, yesterday. I really needed tea too, I’m pretty sure I’m getting sick. Unfortunately, after steeping this one up, I only got a sip or two before getting completely distracted and forgetting about it. I definitely had some roasty oolong flavor, but I don’t remember much, or really any, peach flavor. It was still quite warm when I tried it, so perhaps this tea is one of those where the flavor comes out more as it cools.

TTB Tea 10: This is really good! It’s much more chocolate than mint. The mint hangs out in the background and and complements the other flavors. The chocolate really goes well with the earthy puerh flavors. I didn’t even need to rinse, and there was no fishy flavor! I really like this one.

Flavors: Chocolate, Earth

TTB Tea 9: I saw that the other reviews were not so great for this one, but I still wanted to give it a try. One of the reviews mentioned a fishy taste, so I decided to go with a ten second rinse beforehand. On the first sip, I mostly got an earthy puerh flavor. The more I sipped, the more I could taste the other flavors come in. The puerh definitely dominates here, so if you’re not a fan of that flavor, definitely avoid this one!

Flavors: Earth

Bio

I’ve lived in Hawaii, Mississippi, Colorado, Maryland, Texas, California, and Oklahoma. I’m just waiting to see where we end up next!

My preferences are towards black and oolong teas but I love trying new and/or weird teas! I’m finally learning to enjoy green tea.

We recently moved to about 6500 feet above sea level and I’m still trying to get the hang of the lower boiling point! Any tips would be appreciated :)

I really love swapping, so if anything in my cupboard catches your eye, please let me know!
