Decent, but not as good iced as it is hot. I feel more like I’m drinking a bucket of cold water with a stick stuck in the bottom than a prepared iced tea drink. Or maybe water that’s been sitting in a wooden bucket for a while. It’s not unpleasant, but not really something I’d want to replicate.

Also, yesterday I was trying to say the name of this tea to a non-tea person, and suddenly it sounded for all the world like some sort of racy dance step. Hee!

Definitely nutty, definitely yummy, rather soothing. It really does remind me of wood, but in a very yummy way.

Made up this tea yesterday before I noticed how late at work it was – and I didn’t want to waste the oolong leaves, so I quickly brewed up two more batches and stuck them in my waterbottle in the fridge overnight.

Not a bad iced tea. I did brew at boiling, so it’s got an edge of bitter, but overall, this is pretty darned decent for iced tea! I’ll have to do this again.

Nice, mellow, oolong with floral overtones. Very twisty leaves, and nicely aromatic.

Wow, this turned a deep dark pinky purple. Flavor-wise I found it a little sweeter than expected, but a little boring. Nice to try it, but not something I’ll search out.

hrm. There’s a lot going on with this tea. It’s a very light, almost boring looking oolong once brewed up, but in the cup it tastes like it can’t make up it’s mind about what it wants to be when it grows up. It’s got dark notes, floral notes, spicy notes and honestly, it’s a bit too much for me. Complex is nice, confused isn’t.

It’s interesting, but I don’t know it would make it only my permanent shelf. I’m glad I got to try it however.

I’m breaking one of my own rules here. I got this tea to review for www.itsallabouttheleaf.com and I don’t like to put any info on Steepster until after the review posts – I think it’s just polite, since they sent me tea to review and all.

But I just have to say how much I’m enjoying this one. It’s yummy, it’s pretty, and it’s just darned good tea. I think I’ll be getting some of this for myself after my sample is gone.

Nom, nom, nom.

I didn’t get that much milkyness out of my sample. It seemed like a fairly light green oolong. A nice, light green oolong, but I’ve gotten more milkiness or creamy flavors out of others. I did brew it fairly cool. Maybe if I tried hotter, I’d have gotten more out of it. Hrm.

I think my sample was exposed to too much air and light (which was all my fault) because I wasn’t that impressed. I didn’t get much of an aroma off the tea, nor did it have a strong flavor for me. Someday I’ll try it again with a fresher batch, and I’m fairly confident I’ll like it more.

Bio

I’ve got a lot of interests: sushi, science fiction/fantasy, medieval recreation, cooking (specifically medieval cooking), reading, British science fiction (Doctor Who!), hand sewing and now TEA!!

My favorites tend to be oolongs and flavored black teas. I like highly flavored teas more than delicate ones. Rooibos tends to taste like dirt to me, and hibiscus is very sour to my palate. But I’m always up to try all sorts of things, and will often find things that I really like which I thought I’d hate.
