The original Sheng Puerh leaf quality used to make 紅运当头 (Hong Yun Dang Tou) is very high; the leaves come from ~200 year old trees in Mengku, Lincang. The fermentation process was done perfectly, and even 6 months after this tea was pressed into a cake it was very drinkable with minimal off-taste. The tea has an amazingly sweet, earthy flavor. We have found this tea to be pleasantly moving, warming up the stomach and limbs quickly; it is quite relaxing and comfortable to drink.
60% is from Fall of 2016; 40% is from Spring of 2017. Using this amount of Fall material allowed us to use high quality Old Tree leaf material while keeping the cost affordable.
