Another version of the classic Earl! We use our luscious organic Cloud & Mist high mountain Chinese tea, grown on an old Buddhist Monastery in a pristine tea garden. Super clean and satisfying. We then add a copious amount of organic oil of bergamot; about 50% more than our regular Earl. This results in a nicely balanced, long fruity finish for the nutty and slightly grassy green tea.

So I assumed from the dry scent that this had jasmine in it, as it had a very potent aroma. But apparently it’s just a green base with bergamot?
Hmmm yeah, no. The bergamot is so over-the-top and perfumey with a weird floral sweetness to it. It’s almost chemical-tasting, or at the very least artificial. Which is odd because apparently it’s bergamot oil, not flavoring.
Anyway, this is gross. And I can’t really taste the base under all the crap.

I usually always end up disliking bergamot on green and rooibos bases. Something about the strong flavor of it needs a strong black base for me to enjoy it.
I feel that, Mastress Alita. I’ve had one rooibos Earl Greay and that was enough to turn me away for life. Bergamot needs a deep, strong base tea.
I actually tend to like Earl Grey on a white base. I can’t say I’ve had many green versions, but I felt like the bergamot here was just so chemical-tasting.

I prefer bergamot on Keemun or white, on Ceylon or Assam it puckers.
