As the market traditionally didn’t value the ‘ugly leaves’, huangpian was undervalued. However, more recently, there’s been a surge of demand as Huangpian is much more forgiving to brew and lacks the bitterness of Puers that are over-brewed, Yiwu Huangpian especially so.
