From white2tea

Raw Puer tea from Wuliang mountain, with the exact date of the tea being unknown. Our best guess is mid to late 2000’s. The tea was in clean dry storage in South China, which has smoothed out the rough edges. The soup is sweet and easy to drink. It has a poppy, pleasant floral fragrance with a lasting sweetness in the mouth.

357g pressed raw Puer cakes and a wrapper that lacks a date stamp, except for a trademark registration of 2006 and a QS registration of 2007. Our best guess for this tea is from the mid to late 2000’s, but as with most aged cakes, we urge you to try them and buy on quality and value as opposed to numerical age.

My first puer, very strange taste to me! Lid has a very strong pine scent , and hot tea smells of wet hay. Cool tea is mostly hay/yeast with a hint of pine. Letting the tea cool brings out more pine taste. No astringency or bitterness. I can see why this was so affordable for such an aged tea.

I was really interested in this tea, and lucked into a sample via a kind Redditor.

It has lightly woody camphor and pine notes, and a honeyed, fruity, yeasty funk like a good Belgian ale. Low bitterness, low-moderate astringency. Signs of it’s youth have mostly faded save for a few green spots in the spent leaves. Reminds me a bit of Repave, but fruitier and more accessible.

I totally agree with your comment on it tasting like a more approachable Repave. One of my favourites; hoping to do a proper tasting soon!
