From Trader Joe's

Trader Joe’s Pumpkin Spice Tea is warm and inviting, evoking nostalgic memories of autumn with every sip. This is a carefully selected blend of Rooibos (a red “tea” made from leaves of the Rooibos, aka “red bush,” plant) from South Africa, combined with natural pumpkin flavor, cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves. While your tea is steeping, close your eyes, and like magic your olfactory sense brings you a pumpkin bread just out of the oven. Yet it’s no magic trick. Just terrific tea blending.

So, what do you do when you are furloughed due to the government shutdown? You invite coworkers over for tea!! That’s exactly what I did today. I made cinnamon pecan scones, tea sandwiches, and they brought lemon cookies and cheese muffins. Yum! One of my coworkers also brought some of this tea. The tea is in little sachets and it’s quite delicious! Really well blended spicy pumpkin rooibos. Would definitely drink that again. I may have to stop by Trader Joe’s. Not like I don’t have the time! :P

Tea of the early afternoon here. I am still sick, and have spent most of the day so far sneezing and blowing my nose, to the chagrin of my boyfriend who left early this afternoon.

As far as pumpkin rooibos blends go, I actually prefer this over the David’s Tea version which seems a bit spicy for me. I wouldn’t say this exactly tastes like pumpkin either, but it’s closer than some others I’ve had. It’s definitely got some nice cinnnamon-y notes as well as clove and nutmeg. At least the price is right, I think the tin costs $4.

Just saw the WALL of pumpkin products at Trader Joe’s this week. Maybe I’ll give this one a try!

TeaBrat

It isn’t bad! And yeah it seems like Trader Joe’s went a bit crazy on the pumpkin products this year, no?

Dustin

OMG TJ’s pumpkin! I wasn’t a huge fan of this one personally. Their pumpkin chai mix tastes god awful and soapy. They have mini ginger pumpkin ice cream sandwiches that are really good. The cream cheese tastes like frosting while the yogurt has a hint of nail polish remover. The muffins with frosting on top are amazing and really good frozen. Corn bread mix is really tasty, as are the macaroons. They FINALLY came out with pumpkin flavored joejoe’s which I’m liking. I have tried nearly every pumpkin item TJ’s has. I’m one of those girls that people make fun of for pumpkin obsession this time of year.

TeaBrat

Ha, I don’t think I have tried anything pumpkin this year aside from tea :)

Hesper June

Feel better soon!

TeaBrat

ugh, thanks, I am still sneezing today… :-/

Waybacklogging here… I had a tin of this last fall/winter. This stuff is pretty good, especially for the price. It doesn’t taste at all like pumpkin, but it is a nice spiced rooibos. The rooibos itself is on the gentler side, without that awful pipe tobacco flavor it sometimes has.

I found this wonderful Rooibos at the Joe’s I visit. I got one can. Returned a week later and got another for myself and one for a friend. Another two weeks-ALL GONE! I haven’t been able to get again-they are not sure it they will be getting more in. This was a big hit they said. Basically it is a blend of rooibos, natural pumpkin flavor, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves. I will say that I personally taste cinnamon and nutmeg the most. I drink this without sugar, or a scant if I am enjoying after dinner, for dessert. Value of this is wonderful, 20 sachets for $3.99. You also get a cool tin-which I will proudly say I am going to use to put Teavana Tea in. I am also going to tell them that, when they try to sell me a darn tin-for the 20th time-and that is on just one visit!

TeaBrat

oh no! I was hoping to get some more when my tin ran out…

Really enjoy this tea despite the fact that its bagged. Noticed it tasted almost exactly like stash premium’s pumpkin spice tea. However, I like this one a little bit more & find it has a fuller taste.

I bought this and it was gone in a matter of days- It’s so good. When I saw this in the store I made absolutely no hesitation to snatch it up. When I got home I literally ran to my tea kettle, and I was not disappointed. The flavor is so bold and rich, the rooibos makes that much of a difference. This tea is perfectly spicy, everything works together!

And it smells amaaaazing. I felt like some kind of drug addict sniffing a can of tea so intensely.

So I heard this tea was quite tasty from Tealizzy and I got some today! Well she was right…it’s quite good. Made a cup this afternoon while cooking up a batch of roasted butternut squash soup. It went great with my Pfeffernusse cookie from TJ’s (love that store!). I added a little honey and steeped for about 3 minutes and was surprised how nice it was as I usually don’t like rooibos teas much. It seems to remind me of something I currently drink, either Oatmeal Raisin Cookie or Monkey Bread from Della Terra. Not sure why but might be the mix of spices. I recommend trying it.

Honestly I was shocked that I even still had this – I stopped shopping at TJ’s early on in the pandemic so this has got to be at least three years old. I’ve switched over to Harney’s Pumpkin Spice Rooibos (which I’m pretty sure is the same tea that TJ’s sells). So when I went to go make my first PSL of the season, I wasn’t expecting to have a bonus sipdown opportunity.

This was one of the first blends that got me into tea to begin with, and I still enjoy it greatly. It’s a very mellow pumpkin spice blend while still having a very identifiable flavor profile. It takes oat milk very well, and I enjoy that I can have it any time because it’s a rooibos. Thankfully I still have a tin of the Harney loose leaf.

AJRimmer

It’s the same as Harney’s? I love the TJ one but didn’t love the Harney one, weird!

Kaylee

I can’t prove it’s the same but I’m pretty sure it’s the same! Weirdly, the Harney loose leaf and sachet versions taste different to me, though they almost certainly are not. My best guess is that it’s a question of the amount of leaf used – I have a habit of overleafing.
