This premium organic Kukicha is undoubtedly one of the best varieties. It has a bright green infusion with a fresh flavour and a pleasant sweetness, almost like vanilla.
In May the fine leaf shoots of the first harvest are picked. The leaves from the tea plant Yabukita are dampened longer than usual, they are then steamed for a little longer, which gives the tea it’s intense colour. The main component of this tea is the leaf stalks which in Japanese is "kuki"
This tea is mild and has a very low caffeine content.
