Another Tea Girl sample down!

This was a nice enough blueberry black tea. Not candylike or jammy, but not quite fully fresh blueberry either. Dried blueberry perhaps, like Blueberry Morning cereal? There is something that’s giving me a slightly hint of almond or grain as well, so maybe that’s why my mind goes there. The base is Ceylon, which is never my favorite, but I found cutting the steeping time short by about thirty seconds really helped to smooth things out.

An enjoyable morning cuppa, thanks Courtney!

Sipdown (1599)!

This is another tea that I did actually consider ordering but the minimum was 50g which was a lot for something that I felt fairly confident would be similar to other teas already in my stash. Plus, it’s essentially a blueberry black tea and even though that is a flavour profile that I enjoy a lot it’s also something that I feel I have incredibly well covered by DT’s Blueberry Jam. I haven’t really found anything that’s been able to ‘dethrone’ that tea for me.

It was a nice tea though! Very full bodied and robust black tea with a nice deep maltiness and a hint of a floral undertone with a sort of drier kind of blueberry note. Definitely blueberry with skin on it, not just like a blueberry juice. I liked how natural it was and I thought it was a nice balance, especially with the other mild red fruit undertones that were also present. It’s always great when the black tea base isn’t masked. However, I was correct in my assumption that it’s not better (at least to my palate) than Blueberry Jam from DT, so I’m glad I didn’t go with the 50g of it…

Sipdown (266)

I is for…Indigo Sky

…and only Indigo Sky since this is the only “I” tea I own/owned. Thank you Sil for sending it my way – both because its been fun to try and because it helped me get more of my alphabet.

This is meant to be a blueberry tea so I was thrown when the first sip was all vanilla. Is there even vanilla in this?! I don’t think so. Also, it was just the first sip. All subsequent sips have been a blueberry flavor that is pretty true to the fruit. It’s not overly sweet. Just a simple blueberry black tea. Nice but I don’t reach for blueberry often enough to justify wanting more of this – plus if I were to want blueberry, I am with Sil in that I would likely want a 52 Teas blueberry offering.

this was a nice blueberry tea. I think i prefer the versions from 52 teas, but overall this was a nice tea. The base is a nice ceylon, though it’s not me preferred base/tea.
