This tea was fired in the second week of April shortly after Qingming festival (April 4th) and picked from ancient tea trees that grow behind Master Luo’s house. Slightly less refined than the Pre-Qingming tea, but with a stronger, chestnut-like flavour and aroma this Long Jing is an exceptional example of China’s greatest green tea by the country’s most famous young tea master.
ORIGIN: Master Luo’s Tea Farm (5 acres), Meijiawu Village, Hangzhou, China
PLANTS AND PROCESSING: 150-200 Year Old Trees – Camellia Sinensis Sinensis, Da Zhong Pin cultivar. Pan-fired (~40 min). Harvested and fired second week of April 2013.
BREWING GUIDELINE: 85-90°C, 3-4g per cup. 4 infusions.

TealyraThis was an awesome birthday present from my mother. I’m still not the biggest fan of Dragon Well tea, but of the Longjing I have tried, this is one of my favorites. What I like about this tea that makes it better than others I’ve had is that it has a beautiful long-lasting finish. I made 4 infusions of this. I believe this is also the greenest in color of any Longjing I’ve had. I wonder how the flavor of this typically varies between different harvests.
