Kiwi Coco-Cherry Herbal Tea

I am continuing to use u0p my samples so I brewed this for last night’s evening cup. Like most fruit tisanes the color was very pale, almost clear. But the flavor was there. Almost sweet, with a little zing from (maybe?) the cherry and cranberry. I would happily drink this one again, but it won’t make it into any future order. Very glad to have tried it.

I think this is the same tea I’ve had from TeBella. I remember liking it before, but this is the tiniest sample, so I’ll try not to underleaf. The flavor is good! I get some sour cherry and pleasant red fruitiness. It’s light and not too tart. This is one I’d buy again (from TeBella or elsewhere). Resteep is fruity and lovely as well.

Iced Tea Sipdown (313)

This is the iced tea I made last night but never got around to drinking it. So it sat in the fridge over night in my iced tea press. I pulled it out this morning and had a couple of mouthfuls during my gong fu session.

This is a pretty nice fruit tea. It’s light but packs a lot of flavor. I recall seeing a note that said it reminded them of Hard Candy by DAVIDsTEA and that is spot on. Plus I really liked that tea so I can assure you this is one I am enjoying as well.

It is definitely like a sweet hard candy. One that is a red flavor. Like a red jolly rancher or the strawberry hard candies that look like strawberries. I am a fan. Yum!

Plum Deluxe Advent Day 16
I ended up cold brewing this with the tiniest amount of water. Based on the scent, I was pretty sure this was the same blend as Hard Candy that DavidsTea used to carry (and I believe Tealyra and many others have now). I really loved it when I was first getting into tea.
Has my couple sips of it this morning. Yup, Hard Candy. Tastes like those strawberry hard candies.

Advent Day 16

This tea is a lie. If I were hoping for kiwi, coconut or cherry I’d be disappointed. This here is a strawberry tea. Bright fresh ripe strawberries. Not the big kind that you find in the grocery store, the kind you buy as a plant at a nursery and grows the tiniest strawberries that hardly seem worth the effort but then you taste them and are blown away by how much flavor they pack. Then you realize they self propagate like crazy in all the pots around them. So you get two sets of those stacking planters and you find you have enough strawberry plants for 24 slots and think you are going to be rich in delicious strawberries come summer time. But the year is 2020 and summer doesn’t exactly happen like normal. It doesn’t get hot enough to signal your plants to flower and fruit so you spend all summer watering this stack of plants that give you noting. At least there is this tea to remind me of the taste. Cold steeped for several hours.

Plum Deluxe Advent Calendar – Day 16

I’m not big on fruit tisanes, but at least this one doesn’t have hibiscus. Dry scent is strong on the cherry with bits of apple and coconut mixed in.

The steeped tea smells exactly like cherry candy canes. Which is weirdly specific, especially since it’s been many years since I’ve eaten one. But there you have it.

It tastes nice enough, very sweet with apple, coconut, and tart cherry candy flavors. I don’t think I really get kiwi? But maybe it’s melding into what I taste as something like cherry Jolly Rancher. Luckily, I like cherry Jolly Ranchers because they have a nice tart cherry flavor.

It’s yummy! Not something I would order as fruit tisanes aren’t really my thing, plus they’re not cost effective with the weight and the amount needed for a flavorful cup. But would recommend for those who do drink fruit tisanes!

This is the kind of tea I pretty much exclusively cold brew, but given the amount of leaf and time available to me with these advents, hot preparation it is! (So daring!)

I’m loving the aroma as my tea steeps and reaches drinking temperatures… I smell sweet apple, toasted coconut, a tart cherry aroma, and am getting an overall tropical sort of feel.

Like the last “chunky herbal” tea, I probably should’ve dropped my water way back, since I like the flavor on those types of teas with a very heavy hand. The flavor just feels too weak with what is in the sample. I’m tasting mostly cherry, and it is coming off with both a nice fruity tartness but there is also a sweetness to the cup from the coconut, which is the other main flavor note I’m getting. After the sip, I get an aftertaste of strawberry, which I assume is the kiwi (not a fruit I ever have often, so it usually reads as strawberry to me). I like the flavor, I would just (optimally) use twice as much leaf as this to get my preferred brew. Since I tend to use leaf my herbal teabags swimming in my cup, hopefully the flavors will pop a bit more the longer it soaks.
