Right on the fine line between black tea and red oolong, the rare upfront flavor profile of 85% dark chocolate in this one will make many tea lovers quite happy. As will the sweet red cherry aftertaste! Wuyi cultivar leaves from the Mingjian region have produced some gorgeous chocolate tasting teas over the years that we have had on the site. They often are in limited qualities and sell out fast, so we were very happy to get this tea in!
This tea is grown on an organic, multigenerational farm in the Mingjian area. The family tries hard to keep traditional practices of tea production alive while adding in modern technology and flavor profiles. Some other great teas from this garden are Wintergreen White Jade and Heritage Jade and Da Mou Oolongs. We are very happy to continue to support gardens and families such as this one!
**Made from the ‘Taiwanese’ Wuyi cultivar that was imported into Taiwan many years ago, it is much more Taiwanese than Chinese in its taste and production. However, this cultivar is unique to many of the more popular tea plants grown in Taiwanese!
