Bought this tea on monday at Lupicia because it smelled SO GOOD from the tin!
It reminded me of Haw Flakes, these little candies I’d always eat as a child! I just asked my roommate if she knew what it was, but it was a typical ‘asian’ candy that you get to the asian market soooo yeah. She only knows pocky and yanyan ahah BUT HAW FLAKES THOUGH.
But yeah. This tea.
Dude.
It’s freakin TERRIBLE hot! Like it was just so tart and sour and I tried adding agave and.. no. It was just too much for my mouth.
But then I decided to pour it over ice and HUZZAH! This tea is really good iced. I can definitely taste the black tea base of the assam and darjeeling, but the hibiscus is there as an afterthought, so it’s not too overbearing on the tartness, how it was when it was hot. I may have overdone it on the agave though, so I’ll just remember that for next time :)
