Description

This Oolong brought to you from Fujian province China has a more subtle Oolong character than most due to it being formented for a shorter time. You may also note a slight green tea character which along with the delicate Oolong flavour make Se Chung Oolong’s particularly sought after.

Our Se Chung Oolong is named after Robert Fortune, a Scottish botanist and traveler who traveled to remote areas of China, including Fujian province, in the 19th century to purchase tea plants for the British East India Company. Not only was purchasing the plants prohibited by the government at the time it was also illegal for a European to travel more than a days journey from European ports. So like most tea explorers of the time he disguised himself as a Chinese merchant while travelling.
