From DAVIDsTEA

We’re diehard sherbet fans around here. But when it comes to choosing a flavour, we always have a tough time picking our fave. So we said to ourselves: why settle for one when we can have them all in one tea? Say hello to the fruity sensation that’ll have you steeping all the colours of the rainbow. Inspired by a summer classic, this refreshing tropical blend is bursting with ripe raspberry, sweet pineapple and juicy orange. One sip is all it takes to get the party started. Go shawty, it’s sherbert day!

Ingredients: Apple, pineapple (pineapple, sugar), orange peel, hibiscus, sweet blackberry leaves, cornflower petals, raspberries, natural flavouring.

Price per 50g: $8.98

Oh God, what is this? I bought a 50g over the Internet and when I opened the bag, it smelled like vomit. It’s disgusting. It’s not helping me to love iced tea.

God I can’t get the smell out of my head.

I haven’t eating well in days because the smell made me want to hurl so bad.

I swear, I’m still having nightmare.

Guess it’s not for everyone.

This has happened to me with fruit teas before. I wonder what the cause is?

The most prominent fruit notes in this tea are pineapple and orange. There’s an underlying flavour of red fruit, likely raspberry, and a nice sweetness. The hibiscus adds body without the intensely tart taste I typically don’t appreciate in hibiscus teas. Honestly, I can barely taste the hibiscus. While this isn’t mind blowing by any stretch of the imagination, it’s a very nice fruity herbal tea that works well both iced and hot.

Iced tea made with 2 sample packs (I would guess just under 2 PS) steeped in a 1 liter mason jar, cooled to room temperature, then refrigerated overnight with the teabag. The colour was a light peachy pink and very summery! It did taste like fruit, mainly raspberry and orange, but it was kind of muddled. I really liked it though! I thought it was perfectly sweet (nothing added), cool, and refreshing.

I used this tea in my new iced tea press and it was great! I am not a fan of super sweet, so this tea on ice is perfect. I let it steep for a long time. Definetly will be purchasing it (it was a sample).

Rainbow Sherbet is probably my favorite tea from the summer collection which is a complete surprise to me. I was on the fence about it when I ordered because I don’t really care for pineapple-heavy teas, but it really does taste like pineapple/raspberry/orange sherbet to me. I kind of miss the lime flavor, because my favorite rainbow sherbets include lime, but I might try mixing it with Sweet Lime or just a squeeze of lime juice the next time I steep. I’ve read reviews/tasting notes comparing the flavor of this blend to Fruit Stripe gum and I completely agree. I’ll probably stock up on this one before the end of the season.

I wanted to like this tea, but something just seems off to me. It improved by adding some sweetener, but still not to my liking. It reminds me of a less flavorful version of Fruit Stripes gum. Not necessarily bad, but I’m not sure I’ll be finishing the 1 oz that I bought.

This is my second sample. I tried it iced. It looks very pretty and colorful. Smells WAY better than sour watermelon-a very fruity aroma I would say. And a sip later, I am in love. A very fruity tropical drink that is sure to be a thirst quencher on a nice summer day.

I like this tea, although it does need sweetener. I had this iced to go with some agave and it was nice and refreshing. I find it has an orangey taste to it, along with the other fruit that’s in it. I wouldn’t know if it tasted like rainbow sherbet, though.

So, of the four new teas in the summer collection this was my favourite!

I was a little surprised that I enjoyed it so much because when the teas were announced to staff I was pretty neutral towards it overall – I also thought it pretty weird that the blend doesn’t have lime. After all, I consider lime one of the key flavours of Rainbow Sherbet. You could call it… key lime. Pun very much intended.

But yeah, I kind of adore this tea even if the fruit notes in it ARE really muddled and somewhat non-descriptive, and there really isn’t any lime in it either. I mean, it is vaguely citrusy and it is vaguely red fruit tasting so you can kind of fill in the gaps mentally as orange and raspberry respectively. It’s just such a nice overall fruit flavour though. Plus, it hasthe perfect level of sweetness without anything added to it and it’s not really all that tart either.

That just makes for a really nice, refreshing and hydrating iced tea! Hard to complain about that…

Friendly reminder that I do not numerically rate DAVIDsTEA blends as I’m currently employed there and it would be an obvious conflict of interest. Any blends you see with numerical ratings were rated prior to my employment there. These reviews are a reflection of my personal thoughts regarding the teas, and not the company’s.

I loled at key lime. And yeah, this has been my favorite of the new teas so far.

Let me know what you think of the Grapefruit one when you get to it :)

I REALLY like this. It is quite good. I think this might be one I stock up on which is good because I like the new tin designs so this is an excuse to get one.
