From DAVIDsTEA

Rich, spice-filled and comforting, with a hint of caramel – like a slice of pumpkin pie!

The forever fall must-have. This rich premium black tea is the perfect way to kick off the season. It’s got all the warmth of cinnamon and cloves, plus the sweetness of caramel and pumpkin candy. • Makes the perfect fall chai latte – especially topped with frothed milk and a sprinkle of cinnamon.
• Try steeping it into custard for an autumnal crème brulée.

This just smells so delicious and it tastes like heaven. I really should have gotten more. There wasn’t much left when I picked it up, and I’d already picked out three other teas, so I only got 25 grams of this. Next year I think I’ll get the tin. This deserves a permanent tin.

The smell is nutmeg and pumpkin. It’s not overflowing cinnamon as some spiced teas can be. It smells like spiced pumpkin pie, and it’s not a fake taste when you sip it. The spices aren’t too strong, so I like it without milk. The spices aren’t overall strong enough to stand milk very well, if you make it the traditional chai way, I mean. Just have to make it stronger next time I do that.

i compared this one side by side with last years blend (they added and subtracted some ingredients) and honestly, i couldn’t tell difference.
what joys! i was happily relieved.
another one of davids all-time stars, i think.
might just treat myself to the fancy tin this year ;)

I made the cupcake recipe… it was a hit with all of my friends and family. It was an easy to follow recipe and didn’t take all that much time to make. Definitely making these again.

I don’t know if “cute” is a word often used for a tea but it fits this one. Opening the bag, you see a dark tea with little fluorescent orange flecks. Upon closer inspection, you see that they are tiny pumpkins. Hence the “cute.” These worried me at first because I thought they might be candies that would make the tea too sweet but they didn’t.

The tea also smells great. It’s slightly spicy and vegetative with an underlying presence of classic tea fragrance.

Prepared, this tea smells like freshly baked gingerbread with a touch of yam. It wasn’t discernibly “pumpkin” but you could tell there was definitely something from the veggie aisle. The flavor was slightly astringent and there was a great finish to the cup with a lingering squash/pumpkin flavor. There wasn’t much of a classic chai taste but there was just enough spice to make this interesting.

This is one of my all time favourite teas – when it came back to the shelves of David’s Tea again this fall, I almost jumped for joy since my supply was getting to the ends (even though I was trying to ration it!)!!

This tea is so warm tasting and full and.. perfect. It’s like a warm hug on a cool fall day (not to sound too cheesy). I have to stop myself from drinking this one exclusively and give my other teas a chance!

I normally quite like this blend, so I was very disappointed to read others’ reviews that the flavor seems to have changed. I finally, apprehensively, gave this year’s blend a try at work today. Honestly, it tasted the same to me. I made it in my travel mug, added rice milk, and enjoyed the sweet/spicy combo. Not sure why everyone else thinks it’s off. Maybe it just tastes the same to me because I don’t drink much black tea?

FINALLY trying this one!! Woot! I persuaded my tea-curious coworker to come with me at lunch and we got lattes to go. I was so tempted to buy the tiny tin of this cause it’s soo cute

http://www.davidstea.com/stackable-tins?&TF=9E827C897035&DEID=

But I figured I should do the responsible thing and try it first (but then I bought another tea so I wasn’t that responsible after all).

This is a yummy treat! I like that the spices are present without being overwhelming, and the caramel adds a nice touch. I think it would be better steeped regularly or made on the stove; I think the latte they made in store was too milky and subdued the flavors. Now I’m regretting not buying the little tin so I could experiment!

Also, how cool would it be if they made those tiny tins in more flavors? Then you could stack em all and they would take up way less cupboard space…making room for more teas…on second thought, that could be a dangerous game!

So, I move to the city & start university tomorrow and I am in a mild state of panic. I scan my tea shelf and immediately grab pumpkin chai upon seeing it…my ultimate comfort tea. I had been rationing my supply, but now that it’s finally back I can use what’s left and pick some up once it’s gone!

I make it double-strong, steep it for just under seven minutes, and add copious amounts of brown sugar & frothed milk, with a sprinkle of cinnamon on top. This tea is perfection. My one complaint is that it could definitely use a little bit more spice, being labelled as chai and all, but honestly just as it is it’s a little sip of heaven every time. THE BEST.

Looking forward to picking up some more, and sampling the other new autumn teas!

Oh, so do you make this with two heaping spoonfuls? Sounds like a girl after my own heart. I had this as a lat to go today and loved it, but I want it to be strong and intense!
Good luck with starting university—I promise it won’t be as bad as you think, although the anticipation is often so much more stressful than the actual experience. And remember: you’re stronger than you feel.

I am so looking forward to trying pumpkin chai!! My order is on its way to me as we speak! Can you also drink it straight with sweetener? I can’t have the dairy. Good luck with university! I had to move far from home for mine and it was terrifying but turned into one of the best experiences in my life!

thlowe

I’ve tried it straight with both agave & brown sugar (different occasions!) and both times were good. I would say I preferred the agave.

Good morning everyone! Woohoo, its finally a decent temperature and not below zero. It is going to be 30 today and it feels like a heat wave.

I will be the first to say I am not a chai fan. On a cold cold snowy day or when the leaves start to change and fall is upon us, sure, I’ll go for a chai, but its not my go to tea. I will always try it tho. Glad I did with this one. Can you say Pumpkin Pie in a cup? This is probably the perfect chai for me. The spices are not overwhelming and you can still taste the pumpkin goodness and spices without having to add in milk or sugar to bring those flavors out. Sipping on this delight makes me long for the colors of fall instead of the melting slushy dirty looking snow we currently have going on. So glad I grabbed this one from Queen of Tarts stash sale. Might need to go send out a PM and grab that Eggnog that is up for grabs right now. . . .
