A combination of hawthorn and lemon balm combined with the kick of ginger and the freshness of lime. Fresh, lively and fruity notes are coated and softened with a touch of honey and combine in an infusion with a beautiful amber colour and a deliciously sweet final note.

Dammann Frères Advent Day 9 (9-February 2021)

There is semi-muted ginger here, with some sort of woody flavour layered on top that I don’t recognize. I don’t get much honey or lime. A says this tastes like cologne XD.

Advent Calendar – Day 9 Yep, it’s all about the ginger here. And I don’t know if it’s because I add a little stevia to all my tea but this one was also very sweet. Could be the honey; could be the stevia. Either way, it’s just too sweet for me (that’s a first!) and I can recognize that if I liked ginger, I might like it. But alas, I do not so this one is not for me. It’s not “bad” but definitely not something I would ever reach for.

Advent 9.

I found this to taste just like honey, including a prominent natural floral note. It’s really a beautiful honey note and if I were fond of honey… well, geez. The lemon balm is the next strongest taste for me, suspended smoothly in the sweet, nectary body that has a hint of astringency. I think the ginger offsets that green, citrusy flavor of the lemon balm, and while not being spicy, it gives a hint of warmth and earthiness. I can’t taste the lime essential oil at all and I have never had hawthorn which is the first ingredient listed.

While I don’t typically enjoy blends with ginger and lemony herbs, nor do I appreciate honey, this has to be the smoothest, sweetest tisane of its sort.

Dammann Frères Advent Calendar – Day 9 (from November backlog)

Okay, let’s get this over with.

Not being a huge ginger fan, this is obviously not up my alley. The ginger is certainly the strongest flavor here, and overall this tastes quite soapy. There’s a soft herbal flavor in the background that is pleasant, and a hint of citrus. But mostly it tastes like ginger soap.
