From the Great Canadian TTB.

I am not sure if this was meant to be. I could not, for the life of me, find this tea on steepster, I also had trouble finding it on the Camellia Sinensis website. So I added it. So this note might be in the wrong place. I am not sure what’s going on at the moment. Its supposed to blizzard today, it hasn’t started storming yet, but my boss called me and told me to just stay home today so I don’t get storm stayed anywhere. So now I am a bit out of sorts because I am ready to go but no where to go. I don’t like it when my schedule it all messed up. HA. I shouldn’t be complaining, its basically a paid day to stay home and drink tea all day :D

This tea smells strongly of vanilla. The brewed tea is a light black base, but the bergamot is moderately strong. There is definitely a strong caramel and vanilla flavour. As it cools, the caramel is getting quite bitter. But while hot, it was super delicious.

I remember many a morning where my wife would stand between me and the door and beg me not to go. My boss was not as concerned with the safety of his employees as yours. Stay warm, safe, and full of tea.

Lala

Thanks KS. Because I sometimes have to travel for work, one of the conditions in my contract is if the roads are bad I do not have to go and I still get paid for a “snow day”, if I would get storm stayed my work would pay for a hotel. My bosses are awesome that they are concerned about me travelling. I am the type of person that will always try to go though, so I think my boss woke up this early morning just to text me not to go. The weather people have been forecasting a blizzard for about 4 days now. (Because I didn’t go to work, it probably won’t happen though).

Lucky! I am at work..not sure how I will get home, it’s snowing and blowing and nasty here..supposed to get up to 30 cm of snow! :( if it’s coming your way, watch out!

tigress_al

wow, that is awesome that you have such a considerate boss!

Sipdown! (83 | 180)

The first of many samples from my recent swap with Courtney! ❤

This is her favorite Earl Grey cream, and it’s definitely the best one I’ve had as well. There’s a nice level of bergamot, strong but not too strong, and the base is very smooth. The vanilla is somewhat subtle, but adds a gentle sweet creaminess that sort of rounds the edges of the overall taste. It’s a a very aromatic tea without being perfumey.

A very lovely tea. I’m not sure I feel the need to have an Earl Grey cream in my cupboard as I tend to reach for Earls with extra citrus and other flavors. But if I did want one, this would certainly be at the top of my list. Thanks Courtney! :)

I’ve been curious about this one. Are there any Earls you find that taste similar to this one?

Courtney

Oh gosh, I’m only just becoming more well-versed on EG, so I can’t say for sure! This one does seem to have a sweetness that the couple others I’ve tried haven’t! My other current favs are B&B and the Osterlandsk HC Blend. I also have one from derk that I need to try!

Martin Bednář

No more blergamot? What is happening with you Courtney? Haha. I wish you finding lots of nice EGs!

Courtney

Martin I know! Although, I am only enjoying the EG creams (cremes?), so there is that! :P

Martin Bednář

It’s all about small steps!

tea-sipper

alright, I’ll just have to eventually try all the EGCs. :D

Courtney

Haha! I actually thought today that maybe I’ll make up the few I have and test them at the same time. Stay tuned!

Teafrog’s was the first Cream Earl Grey I ever tried, and I don’t know if any other has beaten it since,

Sounds like you need some more blerg, Sil. :)

This is practically the only time of year I almost exclusively drink lots of tea with milk, so it is with great sadness that I must prematurely mark this one as a sipdown. The bergamot and I were just starting to create a psychic connection (I was aware of it’s presence and location in the house at all times, across vast distances).

I guess I’ll have to cozy up to the other Cream of Earl Grey in my cupboard for a while, but it feels like a betrayal bordering on bergamot sacrilege.

Yeah, I really really enjoyed my fling with dairy and it was especially lovely in Earl Greys and Earl Grey Creams.

Fjellrev

Me too, flavourite black tea with milk is the best once the weather cools down, especially EGC.

This tea is so creamy I don’t even need to add anything to it. It’s an earl grey tea with a touch of vanilla yogurt.. delicious!

This is it, my winning Earl Grey Creme. No doubt there are plenty I haven’t tried, but no need to move on from here. The dry leaf smells like a fruity marshmallow, then brews up to a well-balanced, creamy, fruity, floral Earl Grey. The base tea is Celyon but not one of the tangiest – still, a nice offset to the creaminess. It has none of the chemical notes that can put me off some Earl Greys.
