Another one from Adagio that was really disappointing.
All I could taste was a pile of chamomile and a bit of lychee flavoring. Definitely no mango to speak of. I was surprised to not really taste lemongrass either, given it’s the first ingredient. Mostly just chamomile with some butterfly pea flower mustiness and a touch of lychee.

I had this as my “tea with a sandwich” for the November sipdown prompts. Since all I had was a sample sized pack, it was also a sipdown.
This tea appears to only come as pitcher packs for iced tea now, and I suppose that makes sense because this made a fruity, candy-ish summery tea. I did ice it and sweeten and put it in the fridge this morning.
I was very surprised that mine was not blue. Either it is too old, if that affects pea flower, or there just wasn’t enough pea flower here. I did not steep twice and combine as I sometimes do so the color couldn’t have been diluted by that.
While brilliant blue color like the pic on their site might be fun for a picnic, I was only interested in the taste, and several reviewers on the adagio site nailed it when they said this tasted exactly like Froot Loops.
If you love that sweet, candy flavor of Froot Loops, buy this for summer. You will love it, and I will probably buy some next spring for Ashman for just that reason.

The butterfly pea flower definitely makes this blend too savory, but this one only comes in pitcher packs, so I didn’t pick the flowers out at the time. Now that I’m back home, I cut open the packs and throw out the flowers before brewing. Even so, the flavor is quite savory, and I don’t taste any mango. I taste lemongrass and something rather plain.

Strange VariaTEA TTB: Tea 21
Pulled this teabag that Roswell Strange shared in the SVTTB and drank it almost a week ago. Thank you!! The tea was fine. At some points I got light mango flavour. It tricked me into thinking I may like it but as I kept drinking the chamomile built up and really ruined it for me. At times I got even a nutty sort of note that reminded me of Forever Nuts and literally nothing should have given that vibe.

Another that came well recommended to me from Instagram tea friends, but unfortunately this was a bit more of a disappointment. While it does steep a beautiful, deep azure blue the taste just wasn’t enjoyable. Very, very lemongrass forward with the strong and unpleasant floral taste of chamomile bringing up the tail end. I knew this one was a gamble for me, as I don’t like chamomile and I’m iffy with lemongrass, but I honestly didn’t expect them to be this level of intense. I didn’t really taste any mango or lychee at all, and so there was nothing to counterbalance those flavours for me…
In the end, I ended up mixing it about 50/50 with lemonade and that produced something drinkable – but not great.
