Chocolate Chip

So I was basically out of tea this morning and was rummaging through the cupboard and found a sample tin of this tea. Hmmmm, chocolate is good, tea is good… does this mean chocolate + tea = great?

In short, no. It is more like chocolate + tea = ordinary. The tin smells great! But, when does chocolate not smell good? Steeping yields a cup of decent black tea with a watery chocolate taste.

I made myself a tea latte. I usually don’t like my chocolate flavored tea straight because they usually end up tasting like watered down hot chocolate. I like the fact that I could taste both chocolate and tea, which is not always the case. An affordable choice too, since you need a lot of leaves to make a decent tea latte. But nothing special, just what you’d expect from a chocolate flavored tea.

I really expected to hate this tea. It smelled delicious in the tin, but I could not reconcile chocolate and black tea together in my head.

I’m learning that I like my tea a bit stronger than normal, so I cut the suggested heat down from 212 to 180 and brewed 8 minutes instead of 5. I also used a bit more tea.

Not really the best tea I have had when plain. Sipping it tastes like black tea, with a slight watery chocolate aftertaste. However a small amount of cream and sugar (which I really, really usually despise in any tea) made it delicious for me. For my tastebuds, the cream and sugar definitely perked up the chocolate taste for me.

Today was cold and rainy, and I didn’t get home til midnight – this was a great tea to warm up and relax with while surfing the net tonight!

This is pretty darn tasty! I bought the generous “sample size” (nearly an ounce) from Adagio with my last order and decided to change it up from my normal Davidstea Jasmine Black Pearls for my morning office tea. It’s basically their Valentines tea without the strawberry. So if you like that, you’ll like this. As with that tea, I do taste the chocolate. I sweetened it but didn’t add milk this go around. I’d probably buy a larger bag of this the next time I order from Adagio.

I don’t like this as well as I like Adagio’s straight up chocoloate tea. I’m not entirely sure what the difference is, except that this one tastes a bit faker and less smooth than the chocolate. I’m still quite willing to drink it, but purchasing-wise, I go for the chocolate.

Very good on its own, but I have not even tried a resteep on this as the chips are gone with the first. It is divine with a bit of peppermint added. I love a chocolate peppermint tea where the peppermint flavor is light so you can taste the tea.

A decent chocolate tea. The chocolate flavor comes out much more with the addition of milk and sweetener. Resteeped this tea, and I think it is better the second time around (the flavor is somewhat smoother). Prepared with almond milk and stevia.

This I’s a black tea with chocolate chips. I can see the black tea with chocolate. I steeped the tea for a couple of minutes or more. The a nice black tea and a medium chocolate taste.

light chocolatey flavor, not too rich (not sure if this is good or bad) but overall enjoyable. i think steeping it in the ingenuitea helps as the chips have a chance to melt and mix with all of the water, not seep out of a little strainer/tea ball. good with milk and sugar.
