Looking for a great iced tea to enjoy over these long, hot summer days? Look no further! This tea makes a fantastic iced tea (you can either cold-brew or hot-brew it) & it’s delicious! Fruity, sweet & pleasantly tart!
Tea of the Week for June 24, 2024!
Nice! This tea starts with our sweet, smooth Chinese Sencha (organic, of course!), to which I’ve blended lots of bananas, raspberries & strawberries, plus some marshmallow root & vanilla bean. The result? Sweet, tart, fruity & delicious!
My original vision for this tea was to create something similar to the Pineapple Whip (& later, the Strawberry Whip) teas I’ve crafted in the past. After tasting my first attempt with this blend (which did not include the marshmallow root or the vegan marshmallow essence) I realized it needed more “fluff” to the “whip” so I added the marshmallow root & marshmallow essence to soften things up just a little. That’s why this is a “Fluff” rather than a “Whip” – but the flavors are still there.
This tea is perfect for cold-brewing & makes a fantastic iced tea to enjoy these record high temperatures! I have never really made a secret of my dislike for the heat, but teas like this make those days a bit better.
PLEASE NOTE: Some of the labels were printed without vanilla bean noted in the ingredients. I apologize for this oversight.
organic ingredients: green tea, bananas, raspberries, strawberries, marshmallow root, vanilla bean & natural flavors
to brew: shake the pouch well to incorporate all the ingredients. Use 3g of tea to 12oz of very hot water (175°F). Steep for 2 minutes. Strain & allow to cool for at least 5 minutes before sipping. Or, for cold refreshment, I highly recommend cold-brewing this: use 3g of tea to every 12oz of water in a container (I use a large bell glass jar). Seal jar & stash in the fridge for several hours (4-5) or – for best results – allow this to steep in the fridge overnight! Strain the tea & enjoy!
serving suggestion: As I’ve mentioned above, I highly, highly recommend serving this as an iced tea. The combination of the green tea, fruits, vanilla bean & marshmallow root creates a really satisfying, refreshing iced tea! No sweetening is necessary because it has its own natural sweetness – but – if you want to highlight the flavors of the vanilla, a wee bit of sugar will do that for you.
