Tea of the Week for April 10, 2023!
Yum!
When I think of orange teas, I generally think of winter. Since winter is now over, this tea represents my farewell to winter for this year (although we’re still experiencing some chilly weather – & I’m not complaining – I’m loving it!)
This blend starts with a blend of black teas (Assam, Yunnan & Ceylon) & I added lots of dried orange wedges & vanilla beans, plus some vegan honey essence. It’s honey-sweet, a little creamy with a bright orange note! Nice!
While this tea represents my goodbye to winter until the end of the year, I wanted to give it a spring-like note with honey flavor (don’t worry, it’s vegan!) These two flavor profiles come together in this cup & it’s delicious! It’s also organic, vegan, gluten-free, allergen-free & all natural!
organic ingredients: black teas, oranges, calendula petals & natural flavors
more about this tea: It’s orange. It’s honey. It’s lovely! I’m not sure what else to say about this tea except that it’s really delightful – it would make a fantastic mid-morning pick-me-up or a tea to enjoy for afternoon tea. Super tasty!
to brew: shake the pouch well to make sure that the vanilla beans are well-incorporated. Those tiny beans like to sift toward the bottom of the pouch & this blend is tastier if you have some of those vanilla beans in your measurement!
Use 3g of leaf to 12oz of nearly boiling water (205°F). Steep for 3 minutes. Strain & allow to cool for 10 minutes. Enjoy!
serving suggestion: I enjoy this both iced and hot. I cold-brewed a batch of it and it’s fantastic! It’s also so comforting & rewarding served hot as a mid-morning tea or afternoon cuppa. I like it served unsweetened (the honey essence lends sweetness to the cup). If you want even more honey notes, add just a half a teaspoon of sugar to enhance those flavors.
