Description

Tea of the Week for May 2, 2022!

A fantastic blend inspired by one of my favorite flavor combinations. This blend starts with a rich, flavorful combination of black teas (Assam, Yunnan, Ceylon & Gu Zhang). Then I add a bunch of cacao shells & nibs & air-dried pineapple slivers. It’s so tasty!

It’s also organic, vegan, gluten-free, allergen-friendly & all-natural!

organic ingredients: black teas, cacao shells, cacao nibs, pineapple & natural flavors

more about this tea: As I mentioned in the above description, I was inspired by one of my favorite flavor combinations: chocolate covered pineapple! Not a common flavor combination, but it certainly should be! I love the way these two flavors come together. (Seriously, I think pineapple is one of the more unappreciated & underutilized fruits!) This is so sweet with bright, flavorful notes of pineapple & creamy notes of chocolate. So good!

to brew: give the pouch a good shake before you measure it to ensure all the ingredients are well-incorporated. Use 3g of tea to 12oz of nearly boiling water (205°F) & allow to steep for 3 minutes. Strain & allow to cool for at least 10 minutes before you start sipping.

serving suggestion: as with most chocolate-y black teas, I tend to prefer this one served hot so I haven’t tried this one iced – but I find that as it cools, it’s really tasty too! You know how you brew a cup of tea & then you get distracted by something only to return to your cup of tea to find that it’s cold now? Yeah, that. It’s really tasty at that point too. In fact, I find that as the tea continues to cool – & as I continue to sip – the flavor intensifies.

I have tried this without sweetener as well as with a half a teaspoon of sugar. Both were very tasty – the tea tasted more like a dessert-y treat with the sugar (that’s probably obvious) but it’s still nice & sweet without the sugar, so I recommend trying it before you sweeten – you might like this one without any sweetener at all.
