4337 Tasting Notes
additional notes: This might be one of the “lowest quality” teas from Teavivre, but man, it’s still a good tea. I think I have only tried a handful of teas from Teavivre that I thought were Average for my tastebuds and just not something I would feel the need to stock up on…. the rest of their teas are something I wish I could stock up on. That’s like hundreds of teas. :X My only complaint with Teavivre is still that I wish they would sell 25 or 50 gram amounts. But they have a sale right now! I couldn’t resist a small order.

This was mostly hibiscus with a hint of other fruit — maybe papaya. I specifically finished this one because I read another excellent book that mentioned the book this tea is oddly named after. Reading my other tasting note… I guessed that additional flavor was melon last time but I was wrong. This time I got papaya correct!

Ashmanra’s sipdown challenge – August 2023 Tea #3 – August 10 – Lazy Day – make an easy peasy tea
An easy peasy tea to me is going to my empty Whitman’s candy box where I keep the last servings of tea and grabbing a tea I can easily sipdown. I wasn’t in a rush to finish this one, but I did. Still amazed – nutty, caramel, chocolate flavors. I will miss it! Now the pouch from Frank’s era will go in my empty pouch museum area of “tea” storage. Frank really chose the best tea pouch images back in the day.

From Meowster! Thanks so much! If I were in the market for stocking up on chamomile, I actually wouldn’t mind stocking up on this one. The flavor is really good. It’s very representative and just shouts CHAMOMILE from the rooftops. There are full tiny chamomile blooms, but also some of the tiny pieces of it that like to make a mess of infusers. If only there weren’t those tiny pieces, but possibly that is contributing to this super chamomile flavor anyway.

Finishing one pouch of this, but I have another. I always forget how much I like it! Maybe requires overleafing. The brew is dark, yet not from hibiscus. A bit spicy, a bit fruity. Glad I have another pouch. Raising the rating from 70.

2023 Ode To Tea – Part II – R
I last drank this tea soooo long ago that I didn’t remember what to expect from the flavor. I didn’t expect much (it’s twigs) but was pleasantly surprised while steeping up two teaspoons. It is roasty flavored, yet light, but not as light as I thought (it’s twigs). It tastes like toasted caramel, really. I’m glad this prompt had me dig this out from the bottom of a box. Next time a sipdown!
Ashmanra’s sipdown challenge – August 2023 Tea #2 – Tea from a family member
I have been meaning to write a note about these wonderful teabags, so I thought I would write it for this prompt! I received a box of these from my aunt, as part of my birthday gift a while ago! She is a massive fan of lavender, and knew I was a massive fan of tea, so here we are. I wasn’t expecting much, but this is actually a really authentic lavender while not actually containing much in a teabag. It’s like it is freshly plucked lavender. Plenty of flavor while not being overdone. The description also mentions a ton of nutrition benefits. If you like lavender tea, I would definitely recommend these. A pleasant surprise!
Steep #1 // 20 minutes after boiling // 2 minute steep
Steep #2 // just boiled // 7 minute steep
Good ol Queen, yet again being the only tea for the letter ‘Q’! Never fails, anyway. This tin is getting dangerously low! I think it might be the fastest I have ever been finishing tea in a tin… which I’m sure this is the fault of these alphabet sipdown challenges I’m always doing. :D
