38 Tasting Notes
Made 16oz with 2 teaspoons of tea to share with my boyfriend. It was alright, but very sweet. I’ll have to try it without honey or blended with something else to offset its sweetness (maybe peppermint?) or maybe make it weaker. For now, though, this stays at my boyfriend’s house.
Preparation
Just purchased this today. I’ve been craving mint for ages, and I finally made it to the mall with my boyfriend now that the highway is open again (I live in Rhode Island, and my hometown was one of the worst hit by the flood). This was exactly what I was craving and more. It’s incredibly soothing and cools going down. Since I made it in my travel mug (16oz), I used two teaspoons instead of the recommended 1.5 for 8oz, and it was still quite strong. Maybe use only 1 teaspoon per 8 oz if you find it too strong. It’s also very light, so only $4.30 for two ounces gets you a lot of tea.
Preparation
I didn’t think I’d like this because of its sweet smell, so I didn’t add any sweetener (normally I add a teaspoonful of raw honey or rock cane sugar to almost everything). It doesn’t taste as sweet as it smells; I mostly tasted the hibiscus. Tolerable, but Celestial Seasonings makes better.
Preparation
Probably my favorite bagged tea; like many others have said, I grew up on it. I’ll have to try the loose leaf version one of these days. Brewed 16oz with two tea bags and added a bit extra honey. The result was fabulous. The perfect comfort tea and a great way to start my day.
Preparation
Love this tea. It’s a delicious way to wake up in the morning. Coffee doesn’t agree with me and I don’t like the bitter taste. This wakes me up just as well and tastes wonderful besides, and doesn’t upset my stomach or give me the jitters. I usually drink it with a little milk and sugar. This time, I added more tea than I usually do (2 teaspoons per 8oz instead of 1.5) and the flavor was much more full. I recommend this to everyone, coffee drinkers and non-coffee drinkers alike.
Preparation
Tasty and sweet, but nothing special. I was given this as a gift, and although I would drink it if it was served at a friend’s house or accept it as another gift, I probably won’t buy it on my own. I grew up with Wild Berry Zinger, and that one has a lot more flavor and, well, zing. The teabags are also hard to fish out of the mug. Why no string?
Preparation
The fruityness enhances the white and green tea’s subtle flavor, rather than masking or overpowering it. The Lipton pyramid bags the best quality tea I can find at a chain supermarket. This one is my favorite so far. Absolutely wonderful with a teaspoon of honey.
