1321 Tasting Notes
Well it’s not great but it’s not worth dumping. I have 18 more tea bags to finish. The first steep was a little bitter, so on the second steep I took it out earlier and added some honey. Made it better but for some reason it’s still not quite what I was expecting. I think it would have been better if they had added real blueberries instead.
Preparation
A full rosebud! I’ve seen rose petals but never a full rose bud. Whenever I open the container I feel like I find something new to look at. it smells pretty good too. Even for a Mate purist this is pretty good. I am not a purist by any means as I love to try as many teas as possible but for people who are I think this will still wet their palette.
Preparation
Good hot and cold, plain or with honey. It can get quite bitter though if you over steep it, so be careful. The color of the brewed tea is quite pretty. I also appreciate that they actually put real pomegranate pieces in with the green tea. It’s a very delicate tea so if you don’t like your first cup try again with the same leaves but steeping less or more and maybe adding some honey.
Preparation
My tongue is confused. It doesn’t taste like it smells, wet or dry. I may try this later again and hopefully it will be better. The mix of flavors just doesn’t sit quite right with this ones palate. The after taste too is a bit odd. I just don’t quite know what to make of this tea.
Preparation
I really like the flavor of this tea. It’s a good mood lifter for this ever cloudy weather. The dry smell is very light. But it has a good scent. The ingredients are a very interesting mix of fruits, flowers and grenadine. Yea, I had to point that out because I am pretty sure I have never seen any tea use this as an ingredient. Then again Teavana does like to use unusual ingredients. The tea is good hot and cold but this one I actually prefer on the warmer side.
Preparation
It’s very mellow for a chai. The chai spices don’t hit you until you reach the aftertaste. Even so I like this one. It’s smooth and I love that the vanila flavor isn’t too overpowering. I’m eating it with chocolate macadamia pancakes and they complement each other very well. It’s more of a soothing chai, like it it says on the “box” then it is a real chai.
Preparation
What a delightful tea! Even people who aren’t a true cherry fan will enjoy this tea. It’s sweet cherry notes carry you off to a sunny country hill. At least that’s what I imagine each time I sip some. I also love the dry smell. I’ve been steeping this pot for at least 10 minutes now and I think the flavor just keeps getting more intense. Which is better in this case.
Preparation
I’m leaving my rating marker in the middle. I like it because they mixed the spices together nicely so that not one is too overpowering. Anyone who has a thing for sarsparilla will enjoy this. I’ve tried a couple tea’s with sarsaparilla and they were undrinkable. Despite all that I’m just not a terribly big fan of it. I will drink it till it’s gone because cinnamon is good for you and it’s gross outside right now but I won’t buy this for myself. Mom you can keep the rest. Sorry.
Preparation
It doesn’t have to be winter to enjoy this tea. I was quite impressed with the blend of flavors and how smooth it is. The cinnamon gives it a little bit of a kick. I started to drink it hot but had to wait till it cooled down cause one of my lymph nodes is swollen and hot stuff hurts. It’s good hot and cold.
Second try: Still good but I’m bringing down my rating a little bit. I think I may have rated it a bit too high my first time. There’s something about it that just doesn’t quite sit nicely on the palette. Maybe it’s just the spiciness of the cinnamon.
Preparation
My husband and I love this tea. It’s so smooth and the somewhat root beer/sarsaparilla hints are so lovely. It’s also good cold. Update: Still love this tea ten years later. Different patch of tea btw. Not the same bag. The aroma is so calming mint, eucalyptus, slight vanilla, and chamomile. Though the wintergreen is strong all around in the aroma and flavor. Vanilla seems a little less in this batch. If you are looking for a tisane to unwind with, this is the perfect one.
