81 Tasting Notes
I really like this one. Initially, I was reluctant because I though it would be similar to read my lips, which I do enjoy, but am not over the moon about. Having said that however, I really do love this tea! I like it when I’m in the mood for a good full-bodied black tea but don’t want to fall back on the usual Earl Grey or orange pekoe. I really enjoy the blending of chocolate and strawberry and the general balance of flavors that really stand out rather than becoming a muddles mess. I drink this one with 2% and a teensy bit of agave if my sweet tooth is wanting attention. I will be getting this again :)
I loved this tea! I will definitely need to restock next time I’m at David’s. I take this one either as it is or with a teeny bit of honey. I ran out before I could try it with agave, but I feel like that would be just as excellent. It did well on multiple steepings and the flavor profile did not change drastically. A great tasting tea: I enjoyed the mild nuttiness with the mulberry.
I was really pleased with this one. I had it as a tea to-go with a little bit of agave and had to restrain myself from turning around going back to grab a tin of it. This one is great steeped for short or longer periods, and either without or with just a little bit of agave. I haven’t tried it with milk, though I don’t think you’d really need it. The flavors were nicely balanced and it is excellent freshly steeped and hot, or forgotten-on-the-counter cold/iced. :)
Preparation
This tea really grew on me and I’m disappointed that they’ve discontinued it in stores. My tin just ran out too :( I drank this almost constantly for two weeks straight at the end of the semester and boy did it make a difference. Hot or cold, with a tiny bit of honey, and no milk is the way to go with this one. I liked a steep time of at least three minutes, and let it sit for as long as an hour in some cases when I forgot about it. A very tasty tea.
Preparation
I was hoping for a stronger fig flavor, but found the the first steeping offered a stronger melon flavor. I’m looking forward to further steepings to see how the flavor profile develops. On the whole I’m very much enjoying this brand new flavor of the month!
