New Tasting Notes
This sounded so good when I ordered it. I’m crazy about anything pear, but this… it was a huge disappointment. Even when brewed with twice as much tea as recommended, it still barely has any flavor. And what flavor you do get tastes nothing like pears. The tea itself doesn’t even really smell like pears. When I drank my last cup, there was a kinda unpleasant aftertaste, but mostly I could only taste the sugar I put in it. :(
First of all, this tea smells amazing. When I opened the tin, the room instantly filled with a mouth-watering blueberry scent. But I’m just not a fan of rooibos. It has that odd rooibos aftertaste that I just can’t get used to. Aside from that, though, it’s a great tea. If you’re into flavored rooibos, I’d say to go for it. It brews up a nice shade of magenta.
A bit more spicy than their English Breakfast, but a good breakfast tea. The loose tea is chopped very, very fine and can sometimes pass through the strainer, so a paper filter is recommended over a mesh strainer. Bring water to a boil, remove from heat, wait two minutes, pour water over tea, steep for 4:30, add a dash of milk and enjoy.
