New Tasting Notes
I drink this loose leaf tea at home in the South. Makes a great iced green tea and a nice alternative when suffering from a sweet tea overdose. PLUS it comes from the only tea plantation in the United States. I didn’t know until recently that you can purchase it online. Now I don’t have with(Southern)drawal.
Ok, so it’s not really a “tea” that I “drank”. But I saw this at the store when I got my Tea’s Tea and decided to give it an impulse try. It’s not that good. I saw a recipe for matcha truffles floating around online recently and was hoping this chocolate bar would be in similar taste. It’s not. The chocolate is weak and the green tea filling tastes like baby powder. Plus the green tea is the last ingredient. It’s not even made with matcha. What was I thinking?
Ok, yes, I’m running through my library of tea. This is something completely different from my usual fare. 1 1/2 teaspoons in a 2 cup pot. Steeped 3-4 minutes. Light straw color. Fresh mowed grass smell. Light, tannic, cleansing in the mouth. Best drank hot…as it cools the tannins seem to become overwhelming. A little reheat and its good to go.
This is the first time I have tried Honest Tea Iced Tea. It sure has more GREEN TEA flavor than ANY bottled iced tea I have ever tasted. Or Jasmine for that matter. If you are looking for something different, healthy, or iced tea with a Green Tea and Jasmine KICK…try this
