vanilla? bergamot? really?? i would have never guessed….but this tea smells outrageous!!!

my initial impression was of a fruit crème black tea with maybe some peach, possibly something lemon….and definitely blueberry. i’m reminded somehow of Teavana’s Blueberry Kona Pop…which is blueberry Heaven, but that’s another story..

on the inhale i get a sweet and tart grapefruit-like piquancy which morphs into a scrumptious iteration of blueberry on the exhale… tangy and creamy at the same time. just mouthwatering. what a lovely black tea! the flavoring is masterful.

the mix of ingredients here have given me the impression of a peach/grapefruit/blueberry-esque dessert that is made creamy by the semblance of vanilla. oh my.

i also get a feeling of tart lemony custard! but again, there are subtleties and nuances which seem to pull this tea in all kinds of directions, fragrance-wise. it is positively indulgent. blueberry meringue… oh that this were a perfume!!

now to steep this magnificent jewel, i am so giddy from the aroma!

the verdict:

since i am a fan of over-steeping (especially of flavored blacks), i’ve decided to steep this longer than the recommended 4-5 minutes, and i’m so glad i did. i also put 2 teaspoonfuls of leaf into a mesh filter (didn’t use my PerfecTea Maker this time). the longer this one steeps & the more it cools down, the closer the aroma is to the smell of the dry leaf. in other words….still outrageous!

i’m getting a creamy blueberry pudding with a faint zest from the bergamot. having added sugar to this (to bring out the flavor), i wish i didn’t add as much because it actually weighs the tea down and eclipses the slight tang. otherwise it’s perfect. will use maybe only a tsp of sugar as opposed to two next time! also…this tea is SO good, i didn’t add milk. i didn’t even need to. while halfway through the cup, i’m tempted to because i think this would make a creamy dreamy blueberry muffin!

well let’s see… yup. it worked! exceeded expectations, in fact! literal blueberry muffin i am gobsmacked!! i can see myself craving this one daily….onto the shopping list it goes! it’s only $21.50/lb- what a steal! but a pound of Paris? is that couth? i don’t care! ;p

this is a fruity, creamy, tart and tangy gourmand delicacy that the city of lights should be flattered to have named in its honor. une friandise véritable!

My best friend thinks this tastes like blueberry pie! So you are not alone in tasting that. I love Paris, its so complex, no one gets quite the same experience from it.

I like this one a lot , and I’m a “heavy on the leaf over-steeper” kind of gal too :-)

@*Rosehips*- splendid! i’m so glad i’m not alone in getting a distinct blueberry pie/muffin feel from this, which isn’t so much a silhouette as a masterful recreation! i wholeheartedly agree this is complex- i still get many different notes while happily sniffing (lol…sounds nefarious!) it’s just….out of this world. and yay for extra leaf, over-steeping, teafairy! that’s what tea was invented for! ;p

love tea in every form- from bagged to loose leaf..commercial to niche. i am intrigued by it all & want to learn as much as i can through my 5 senses (tho with tea i’ll presumably be using 3)..am a very sensorial person. love music, perfume, poetry, graphic design, India, Malaysia, Moorish architecture, oh….and tea!

apparently i’m really out of the loop here since i appear to be among the only ones who have not yet tried Golden Moon, Butiki, 52teas, Mandala, Teavivre or Della Terra. i mean REALLY. i need to start lifting this rock up over my head y’all. from the looks of things, i’ve been reenacting Groundhog’s Day every hour on the hour with my uniformed choices. i seek to be anointed!

also, don’t take my numbers too literally; they can’t possibly speak to the actual quality of the tea, much less to the constancy of my own perceptions! what i may feel to be an 88 one day, could very well be a 91 the next, or even 100, depending on my taste buds, blood sugar levels, neuronal firings or planetary alignment ;)
