Good quality tea though somewhat over priced. Very pushy sales staff.

I was just walking buy and a nice sales girl had me try samples. She was helpful. However by the time i got to the register, the price for a sample of tea with required tin purchases and a brewer was 108.00. I said how I will not be spending that much on tea today. So then the cashier confused me and took the brewer off, and half the teas which made me not get the 10% discount. My final purchase was 49.00. I have no way of making the tea. I just wanted to get out of there, so I gave her my credit card and figured i would return it the next day. When I got home I noticed on the reciept “No returns” I didn’t see any signs in the store about this policy. I am very unhappy, and will be calling my credit card to reverse the charges. The tea wasn’t even that good. If they weren’t so pushy, I probably would have been happy with the purchase.

I’ve only been to Teavana twice. Fruity… No really, all their teas seem to have fruit in them; or spices. Very few pure, unflavored teas. And way, way overpriced.
I actually like the sales reps. They may be pushy, but they are really excited about tea.
In the end, I’m glad Teavana exists because it exposes people to tea. Maybe fruit and spice is the way to do that.
I have no need to go back though.

The tea is delicious, but some of the teaware is overpriced and some of the salespeople can be very pushy. Don’t fall victim to their many sales tactics! Some (but not all, or even most) will relentlessly upsell until you have no cash left, overfill your tins to get some extra money (although they do ask you if it’s ok that they put in 3oz instead of 2, so it can be avoided. keep in mind that the extra tea does cost extra!), and exaggerate the tea’s health benefits. Still, they offer free samples and a wide variety of teas that are, for the most part, delicious and reasonably priced.
