1629 Tasting Notes
I love this tea with ginger! I cut up fresh ginger and let it boil in hot water for a few minutes then added this tea. Delicious! I also added some sugar since this tea became too bitter to drink alone. My husband liked the tea, which is great! He loves ginger tea.
I bought this today! I am 38 weeks and the red raspberry leaf may help start labor and make it quicker blah blah blah. :) This blend tastes nice. I was worried it might taste like herbs – like basil or something strong. This one was nice and mild. There is some mint in this, which is soothing. It goes down smoothly without any astringency. This herbal blend is okay. This isn’t something I would purchase again unless I’m pregnant.
I first tried the blueberry pineapple kona pop blend in the Teavana store near me. I really wanted to have that blend, but the people that worked there told me I had to buy each tea separately at a minimum of 2oz each. I opted for this one instead. I figured I could mix blueberry into this.
Anyhow, I cold brewed this herbal last night. I love all the bits of fruits and flower petals. It is a pretty blend, abeit a bit sticky! I had to shake the tin a bit and scoop to get the bits out. My husband drank a lot of it this morning! I just tried this, and it is good. When I sipped it a little yesterday, it wasn’t that good. I think it needed more time to steep. It is sweet with a little tartness to it. The pineapple and apple flavors are prominent, fresh, and juicy. It tastes like juice. No additives needed. I imagine that kids would love this blend. This is very very good iced/cold-brewed. I cannot imagine this being good at all if I steeped it hot. This is perfect for this hot weather.
Now, I want a pina colada!
Preparation
Good morning! This is another sample from the Traveling Tea Box Pass B! Assam is one of my favorite black teas, so I had to try this tea this morning. I am still limiting myself to 1-2 cups of tea per day or every few days.
I couldn’t detect the scent too much on this one. I think it is because it was in my sample box along with other teas. The scent was a little mixed up. Anyway, the leaves are medium sized, and some are a little wavy shaped. The tea brewed up a nice light brown color. It didn’t need any additives as this wasn’t astringent at all. It has a very slightly sweet taste to it. Everything about this tea is light and airy. The slightly malty flavors come out in this tea. Delicious!
In addition, my electric tea kettle developed some rust at the very bottom edge, so I haven’t been able to use it. Boiling water in the pot that I have makes it taste like metal or teflon yuck. So I have been resorting to microwaving my water GASP. I don’t like it too much. I need to buy a stainless steel pot or a new tea kettle. I’ve been looking into the glass ones, but I am not sure how reliable and durable they are.
