Tea #4 from HHTTB2
Holy big chunk of carrot! I wasn’t sure at first that that’s what it was, because it seems like such a peculiar ingredient. But yep. That’s a huuuuuuge carrot slice in my ingenuiTEA. Weird.
This is primarily a cup of lavender. Which is awesome if you like lavender (I do!). The candied flowers offer a pleasing amount of natural sweetness, and there’s very light peachy notes throughout. I don’t really get much in the way of the white tea that’s supposed to be here, but it’s a pleasing, relaxing cup that I’d drink again.

Nettle is such a dinstinctive taste. It’s one of the ingredients in the Migraine Relief tea I drink too. And it has this kind of savory earthy flavor that almost overwhelms everything else here (and unfortunately not in my Migraine tea). There’s also a subtle sweetness here that peaks at the tail of the sip. And something in here that makes my tongue tingle — but only slightly.
A very solid herbal tea that definitely helped me wind down. Now all I need is a massage and things would be pretty awesome.

Tea #2 from HHTTB2
The first sip tasted like toothpaste, but the other flavors build on the tongue while the mint does not, so it eventually becomes overpowered. After that it becomes a bit spicy. Cinnamon and clove on the front of my tongue, chicory in the back. There’s also an underlying flavor that starts kind of murky and took me at least the half the cup to get over. Once that feeling goes away, it’s kind of a sweet woodiness, maybe a damp tree leafiness, very familiar, but at the same time not.
This is definitely a unique blend with lots of flavors, but I’m not sure it’s a harmonious pairing and I’m struggling with it.

It absolutely looked like there were bamboo leaves in here, but they’re not in the ingredient list and I don’t necessarily taste them. So I’m not sure. There’s a little cherry flavor. It isn’t medicinal, but more of a cherry syrupy kind of flavor. The primary flavor is definitely hibiscus. And the aftertaste definitely has that metallic hibiscus-twang.
Also the flavor is really light, so I couldn’t imagine steeping this for the recommended 2 minutes and expect to get anything out of it. Though that could be more related to its travels in the box than the tea itself.
Preparation
Very much ruby red grapefruit — slightly sweet at the front with tartness and just a smidge of bitterness at the tail. The grapefruit flavor is natural and quite good and compliments the slightly sweet, buttery green well. There’s no astringency in the base, so I’d suspect that those who wanted more grapefruit could bump up to 2 tsp. The overall flavor is more zest (as in fruit zest) than juicy, but it’s fantastic with a little honey added in.
I kept wanting the fun grapefruit tingle that Butiki’s Grapefruit Dragon offers, which I prefer.
Thanks momo!

This is Fiance’s favorite iced tea, and while I don’t necessarily like using my favorite teas to make a pitcher of iced tea, I can’t really fault him for it.
It’s naturally sweet and the muscatel notes are fruity and bright. The aftertaste is just a little earthy and reminds me of a fall day after a rainstorm.
(It also got rave reviews when I served it to a friend at our last game night on Saturday.)
Preparation
I got this in the mail (attached to a RoT catalouge) mid last week. And I can say this isn’t something I would have tried otherwise.
The apple element is a lot like a green apple Jolly Rancher and the caramel doesn’t really become prominent until it cools, and then it becomes a burnt sugar, caramel note. All in all, it reminds me a lot of those caramel apple suckers.
Unfortunately the rooibos is also a prominent note, which isn’t exactly my favorite flavor.
Preparation
When I grabbed a sample bag of this with my last Adagio order, I really, really thought it was coconut and mint. But um. Nope. That’s not hugely disappointing, but was a mild surprise when I opened the sample baggie. This seems to be a common thread in the reviews, so I don’t feel too stupid about this.
That said, this is a little like melted Junior Mints. It’s dark chocolate with a slightly artificial tasting minty flavor. When hot, it’s basically a dark chocolate green tea with a minty after effect. The artificial flavors are waaaaaaay more prominent this way, and I can honestly say I don’t like it. It’s much better iced where the mint is the prominent flavor and the chocolate is less plasticy and more subtle overall.
Definitely an overwhelmingly meh cup.
Yay I’m glad you enjoyed it:) my addition to the box:)
you better hold on to that carrot. Not everyday you come across Holy carrots. :D
