I picked up a sample of this last weekend at Majesteas (they had some of the samples on sale and I’m a sucker for a good deal). The dry leaf smells like a delicious dessert: sweet caramel and toffee. The earthy pu-erh flavour really comes out when the leaves are steeped. The first steep was a little too fishy for me (maybe I should have rinsed the leaves?). So I steeped the leaves again, and I really enjoyed the second cup.

Flavors: Caramel, Earth, Toffee

drank Blueberry Lagoon by Tealish

So, I think Tealish has renamed this blend to Blueberry Bliss. Anyway, I’ll post my review here because the photo and the ingredients are the same as the tea I am drinking.
Spring has sprung in my neighbourhood, and this is one of my favourite teas to have at the beginning of the season. It tastes like bright, sweet, fresh blueberries and the hibiscus flavour isn’t too strong. I think it would also make a great cold brew as well, but I’ve been having it hot. I bought a big bag of this tea 2 weeks ago, and it’s almost gone. I will definitely be restocking this one.

Flavors: Blueberry, Sweet

Preparation
205 °F / 96 °C 5 min, 15 sec 1 tsp 16 OZ / 473 ML

This is one of my autumn favourites. I usually pick up a tin of this when it starts to get cool in September. To me it tastes like pumpkin pie with a smooth chai finish. I usually drink this with a splash of milk. This one is a staple in my tea stash.

Flavors: Caramel, Molasses, Pumpkin

205 °F / 96 °C 4 min, 30 sec 1 tsp 14 OZ / 414 ML

drank Champagne Cassis by Tea Desire
23 tasting notes

Another one from the Tea Sparrow subscription. Not bad. I don’t really taste champagne, but the black currant flavour is okay. It’s not one of my favourite teas, but I’m glad I tried it. Maybe I’ll try it as a cold brew next…

Flavors: Black Currant

I didn’t think I would like this tea (the dry leaf smells like cinnamon hearts – bleh!), but I was pleasantly surprised. It does taste more like cinnamon and rooibos than chai, but that’s alright. The cinnamon flavour is really strong and a bit sweet, but not in a sickening way. I don’t dislike this tea, but I’m glad I only have a small sample in the cupboard. Meh.

Flavors: Cinnamon

Preparation
Boiling 4 min, 0 sec 1 tsp 16 OZ / 473 ML

For me, I just find the cinnamon is too powerful and upsets my stomach :(

I got a sample (sachet) of this from the Tea Festival a couple weeks ago. I wasn’t expecting too much from it (I haven’t tried anything from this company before), and I was blown away. This tea is great. It is bold, zesty and even a little bit vegetal. It also has a slightly roasted flavour, which I really loved.

I think a road-trip is in my future to visit the Camellia Sinensis shop and see what else they have to offer.

drank Snow Day by DAVIDsTEA

This tea tastes more like mint than anything else, but I still enjoy it. It’s refreshing and I find it makes a soothing cup after a long day. I found it to be slightly disappointing when I first tried it because I could not taste the chocolate.

Flavors: Mint

Preparation
Boiling 4 min, 45 sec 1 tsp 16 OZ / 473 ML

Back story: 2 years ago I was working in a small town in the middle of nowhere and it was cold. I mean really cold. So I was drinking this tea throughout the day to keep warm. When I brewed up a sample of this tea today it brought me right back to that small town.

I don’t like this tea quite as much as I used to. The sweet strawberries, tart rhubarb and slight creaminess from the yogurt bits are all very nice, but I can really taste the hibiscus flavour (which I do not care for). I don’t think I would buy more of this, but a sample every now and then is okay :)

Flavors: Cream, Hibiscus, Rhubarb, Strawberry

Boiling 4 min, 45 sec 1 tsp 14 OZ / 414 ML

drank Mango Madness by DAVIDsTEA
23 tasting notes

I decided to finish up the last of this tea this weekend (I only had a little bit left and the tin was taking up too much space in the cupboard). I prefer drinking this tea as a cold brew instead of hot. As a cold brew (or iced) I can really taste the mango and fruity flavours, but steeped hot this tea is sort of boring. However, hot or cold brewed, the white tea taste is buried deep beneath everything else that is in this tea.

Flavors: Apple, Fruity, Mango, Orange

drank Coconut Oolong by Zen Tea
23 tasting notes

I’ve had a few coconut flavoured oolongs over the past few years, but this one is the best. Creamy, milky oolong with a dash of coconut = delicious! I’ve been drinking this tea quite frequently this week, and I think the third steeping of the leaves is the most ideal. The people at Zen Tea have managed to find the perfect balance of coconut flavour without sacrificing the taste of the oolong tea.

Flavors: Coconut, Creamy, Milk

Preparation
1 tsp 14 OZ / 414 ML
