Not knowing where in the rural Midwest you are makes it hard to suggest. I used to live California rural but that’s spoiled!
To clarify – there are NO (zero – none) tea shoppes closer than about 60 miles from my home and in fact it is the only one I even know of but it is a goodie – Empire Tea Services. I am thinking grocer or more likely world food mart darjeeling. Ahmad I know is not to shabby, but maybe their is another commomly available that is better.
I got that…I was thinking outside tea shops…like…Chinese resturants…I have gone to places like that and bought tea! Or certain grocers…I mean…in some places I’ve been camping stores and such carry stuff for hikers like tea. Wierd but true. I know it sounds crazy but I go to the supermarker and ask the buyer to get things for me sometimes and they do it.
