12 Tasting Notes
Funny how I’m drinking Golden BREAKFAST at 10:30 pm. I do drink it with breakfast sometimes and it’s always good. I thought it might help tame the outrageous burning of my mouth from my dinner and it did. (Also, if I had a loose leaf mango or peach I would so try the Rex Barrett’s idea above. Alas, I don’t despite the two and a half cupboards full of tea.)
Preparation
I was a little surprised to note that the taste of this reminds me of the iced tea you can get in restaurants around here. Not exact but oddly similar.
I steeped for four minutes because this is my first time drinking it. Added some honey after drinking a little, it was good but I like the teas I drink at night to be a little sweeter. I might have this with breakfast tomorrow without anything added.
(Also, I feel kind of awesome having this. Like I’m helping someone out by drinking their tasty tea that they were paid right for. Very cool.)
Preparation
The smell of the cinnamon while steeping reminded me of big red gum (which I don’t like) so I went for a shorter steeping time. I didn’t realize we were out of milk until I finished making it so I simply put extra honey in.
It’s good, but I don’t think I’ll get it again. (Unless the milk tones down the cinnamon and brings out the other spices, I can’t really taste any of the others. Cinnamon is good but if I wanted cinnamon tea that’s what I’d be drinking.)
[May update later when I’ve gotten some milk.]
Preparation
I had to sweeten this a little but I think I may have steeped it a little much for this particular brand. I’ll have to have another cup of tea to make sure [:)]. Anyway, this is fairly good. Not my favourite earl grey but, for a bagged tea, it’s more than acceptable. It does have a definite citrus taste (not too strong) and the bergamot taste is a little stronger, in my opinion, than the Twinings Earl Grey.
Preparation
I’m drinking this with a little bit of honey. I know I drank it before, but I have some vague recollection of wanting it sweeter. Anyway, it’s sweet with a strong fruity taste, though I can’t quite pinpoint exactly what fruit I’m tasting.
Smells very nice (and strong, I made one cup and the whole kitchen smells like it now) and it’s a very pretty dark red.
Preparation
I’m drinking this right now. A good morning tea. The smell (pre-brewing) really reminds me of Earl Grey but the bergamot is not nearly as strong of a flavour as most Earl Greys I’ve drank.
A bit bitter, I think I’ll brew it a little less next time. Or I might just add some milk as another taster mentioned. (I don’t drink tea with milk often so I can’t (yet!) tell right off if a tea would be good with it.) Added a little honey.
Preparation
I love this tea lately. I haven’t been posting any ’what’s in your cup’ things because this is all I’ve been drinking.
I like it with a little milk (I don’t know how much I kind of wing it) and some, more often than not, some honey (also unmeasured). I skip on the honey if I’m not wanting something too sweet. I don’t really taste the coconut much but my sister who doesn’t like coconut says she can taste it quite well.
