AAAAhhhh, my new favorite tea from Yunnan Colorful. I am on the second steeping of a morning cup and the leaves are huge. It has a mildly sweet floral flavor like all good Dong Ding Oolong.

Brewed a cup of this tea this morning at work and enjoyed it quite a bit. We have one of those bottled water dispensers that provide hot water as well as cold, so am not sure what temperature it was. Left the tea in to steep and added more water an hour later…..tea still tasty after lunch.

My long awaited third order from Yunnan Colorful was at the post office this morning. I am on the second steeping of this one and so far so good. It is not top of the line tea….some stems and broken leaves, but well worth the money and wait.

yuck…..this confirmed my feeling that I do not like “flavored” teas. I already gave this away to a co-worker who does like such things.

What is in my cup this afternoon? Yorkshire Tea by Taylors of Harrogate. It is really hard for me to remember not to steep this one so long. This morning’s cup was a little over done and bitter. This afternoon, I did much better and am enjoying a late afternoon pick me up. Added to this little work party was a shortbread cookie from Borders…..nice!

I just bought this tea and made a pot of tea yesterday. I enjoyed it very much. From reading All the Tea in China, I learned that this tea came from the work of Robert Fortune for the East India Company in the late 1800’s. He “gathered” tea seeds in China and the tea plants that sprouted from those seeds were planted in India…Darjeeling tea came from that “project”.

According to the story on the package, this particular tea is second and third flush tea. ie, they were part of the second and third annual picking of these tea plants.

I love this stuff. I am on my second round of steepings today. I am reading All the Tea in China, so am now very curious about which teas are in this blend.

I drank several cups of this tea this afternoon at work and have switched to a green tea from Yunnan Colorful for this evening. I am on the second steeping and heating the water for a third.

I bought a tin of this tea over the weekend. It was nice to find it as a loose tea. I brewed several cups and found it to be very nice both hot and iced. I find that it has a little smoky flavor that I enjoy very much.

I made a pot of Republic Red Chai a few days ago and kept it in the refrigerator. I put a little bit of sugar in while it was still warm. Served it cold with plain soymilk…..what a refreshing drink!
