537 Tasting Notes
Finally I’m done with this tea. Sipdown. 5/30
Cold brew
Mint black tea – but all I can taste is mint.
This one suckered me in by the description in the store catalog – unique tea. All it tastes of is mint! Seriously, I’d be better if I was just drinking mint in water. Not unique or special. I fell for the marketing and not knowing more about price points in 2015.
This tea is messy. Jasmine scented. Why do these apple pieces have silver stuff on them? and in the brew?!
3min, 205F
jasmine, apple, pine, metallic
I really don’t like the pine taste. I don’t like the silver stuff. I don’t like this tea at this temp. Should I try this at a lower temp? Is it worth it? A miss for me.
Flavors: Apple, Jasmine, Metallic, Pine

The pomelo’s there but it’s super light. This was cheaper as they were upfront that the fragrance had faded quickly. First sip just tasted like hot water. Has some thicker body. A good bit of jade oolong taste peeking out especially as it cools.
4 min – longer steep brings out the flavor better. Now a hint of sweetness and pomelo.
I might try this cold brewed to see how it goes.
Flavors: Citrusy
Backlog 5/28. Sipdown
2min, 205F, western X3
pean, cocoa, vanilla, sweetness

2 min, 212F, western X3, overleafed
pecan, cocoa, rich, vanilla, malt
This tea goes on and on. Well balanced, but a lot of different flavors. I’m glad I picked some up while I could. Caramel pecans were a great snack too!
Flavors: Cocoa, Malt, Pecan, Sweet, Vanilla
Backlog – sipdown actually 6/16
unsmoked version of this tea
small twisty leaves that smell of chocolate
2min, 205F
chocolate
dry smells – bready, yam, cocoa
1. 3min 212F – yam, cocoa, fruit
2. 3 min 200F – fruit, sweet, coating as it cools
3. 4 min 200F – candy sweetness, fruit, juicy, small sour note in background.
It’s a better at a little lower temperature. But this tea is pretty old now and a lot of the flavor has been lost. Still I wonder, why would you smoke this tea? I might order some more to try.
Flavors: Candy, Cocoa, Fruity, Sweet, Yams
