43 Tasting Notes
I drank the koolaid and bought this. It’s pretty bad. They only had decaf, maybe that’s why it was horrible. In the HUGE bag I bought (qq) this tea smells absolutely delicious. So whatever chemicals they concocted are nice smelling, but the taste doesn’t translate to the tea or else is kind of artificial tasting. The leaves don’t seem high quality either (overbrew super easily before any vanilla flavor can be obtained). I’ve tried various tea to water ratios and times. Lesigh.
Absolutely one of my favorites of all time. I will be sad to see Butiki go :( Super super creamy. When I make flash iced tea with this, it blends up frothy and looks like there’s cream in it and tastes like it looks. I must try adding coconut flakes to all my teas…
If anyone knows of flavors similar to this (buttery, cookiey, creamy, nutty) please let me know.
This is a beautiful tea and very unique. Initially it tastes/smells like your average roasted tea, but it’s not quite as smokey/roasted as you’d expect. This is a plus for me since I’m pretty iffy about roasted teas—most make me feel nauseous. The sweetness was surprising to me, as was the buttery taste. Towards the end I get a sweet crisp fresh, juicy cooling minerally taste that is unexpected and addicting. I feel like a cow must feel when munching on the most delicious sweet grass (but it’s not vegetal at all to me). Ooh, I can place it now—it reminds me of persimmons or maybe nectarines and I can taste the peachiness others are talking about.
This is lovely, but I still sometimes taste that kind of artificial/concentrated taste when the flavor is very strong—perhaps only when I overbrew :) But maybe I overbrew because it doesn’t punch me in the face like I want it to (I don’t get much of the tea taste, but I guess that’s the point)
