So good! In the bag this has a tangy fresh strawberry smell from the freeze dried pieces but after a couple of minutes brewing the smell and flavour is very mellow and creamy, like a strawberry icecream. I find nearly all tea relaxing but this one is really nice and comforting.

Preparation
170 °F / 76 °C 1 min, 45 sec 1 tsp

Ethics tea has a strong coconut smell, very sweet and mellow. My little boy said it smelled like chocolate, maybe meaning a bounty bar!

It tastes of coconut and then green tea with a hint of something sharp and refreshing (maybe the pineapple but to me it tastes more like a hint of melon. It’s nice and light, something you could drink after a big meal.

It definitely made me think of a tropical island and wasn’t over caffeinated.

Flavors: Coconut, Green, Melon

drank Creme Brulee by T2

I’m a newbie to more exotic tea drinking (until T2 came to Milton Keynes I drunk English Breakfast, earl grey and various herbals). I would never have considered drinking a creme brûlée tea as surely that is something rich, smooth and heavy more like a hot chocolate than a tea but I brewed it up from the 20 gem set and gave it a go. I don’t like milk in tea so decided to drink it black.

The smell is very Hazelnutty with a little caramel. The tea itself provided a nice background for the nutty vanilla and caramel flavours to come through. I found this really nice and relaxing. It’s not at all what I would have expected and I imagine that if you were into milky drinks it would work well with milk too. It was quite sweet and sugar was an ingredient so I’d need to check the calories before buying a it’ll cube of it but it was definitely a nice treat.

drank Chai by T2

Ok. I drink tea black. I used to be a dash of milk girl but nobody seemed to understand the difference between a dash and shed load of milk so I started drinking weak black tea. I once tried a chai latte and found it horrid, to me a milky drink should be sweet and chocolatey not drowning out lovely aromatics. So I approached T2’s chai not expecting much. I had a tea bag from the 20 gems collection.

It said to serve with milk and honey but I decided to ignore the advice and after letting it steep for 2 minutes I had it with a tiny squirt of honey. Wow! Without any milk and foam fighting the aromatics it was lovely. It had a strong cardoman smell but when I tasted it it was sweet and soohing with a lovely spicy ginger and cinnamon taste.

I bet this would be amazing if you had a cold. Even the tiny bit of honey worked well. Very soothing and surprisingly nice.

Hmmm. This is my first ever jasmine tea which could be why I’m not enjoying as much as I do with teas I’m more familiar with.

The aroma is very strong (unsurprisingly!) the green tea flavours of melon and a final almost buttery base note come through when you taste it. It starts with a slightly spicy jasmine flavour and then mellows down a little. It’s nice enough but wouldn’t be my first choice of tea.

I love this tea! The fresh fruit and floral flavours work so well with the traditional earl grey mix. I find it refreshing and a really great balance of flavours.
