Yea, when it breaks it can cause a lot of things to backup. So even after we get it started again it can take a little while for activity/notices/emails/etc to work back through the queue.

Yes, mine is frozen, too. My theory is that it happens when someone follows a whole bunch of people at once. There could be other reasons, too, though.
