Would be great to be able to have teas that show up in a search be rated, e.g., searching on ‘chocolate’ to see which are the best chocolate teas rather than 425 teas coming up in the search and the user doesn’t know which ones are, in the community’s view, worth trying. Same for other general searches, e.g., mint, lemon, etc.
This, definitely. I thought about this when I wanted to try things like Irish Breakfast or Earl Grey Lavender for the first time… I’d like to know which brand I should try first.
How about a map showing where your teas are from? Add a spot in the Edit teas page for a location, and have different options for seeing different maps. I know I have quite a few from China and Japan, but it’d be neat to see how close or far apart my favorite teas are, and where favorite teas on Steepster come from
I don’t know if it has already been mentioned on here, but an app for the iPhone would be AMAZING! I live on my iPhone and would love to have a Steepster app for it!
A Mac dashboard widget would be handy as well. Do you know there are no good tea widgets?!
I second (or fourth?) this opinion! Would love an app for my iPhone.
I actually did a search for an app and was disappointed that there wasn’t one, so I definitely agree with you!
req no1: i want to be able to upload photos into tealogs.
also when browsing through cupboard or tea ratings sorted by company would be nice to have some kind of a dropdown menu where i could filter out the company i want. for example yesterday i wanted to see which Yogi teas teaequalsbliss has logged. it’s not easy getting there even tho im a major geek ;) not a user friendly process guessing the page number in the url or clicking on next button 20+ times…
an optional advanced search system would actually fix it all.
A notice saying “x user just drank (or rated) x tea” when another user logs a tea we’ve had before.
agree… or like being able to follow tasting notes on certain teas kinda like following discussion topics
I know we already get notices when people comment on tasting notes we have commented on… is that what you mean malomorgen?
well kinda, more like to subscribing to discussion topics where u can choose to follow it or not…
Did a quick search and nothing came up from this topic — it would be absolutely, 100% fantastic to add an online tea timer! I don’t have a kitchen timer and I always forget to use my cell phone’s timer, so I usually just estimate times. It’d be great to have an integrated timer here on the website…and then a reminder, when the time’s up, to write a tasting note. :)
There are other ones you can find online so my personal opinion is that it doesn’t need to be duplicated- but your post reiterates a good point… the search does not cover this thread.
until then http://steep.it – i got it bookmarked and use it all the time. love it…
Yeah, it’s not anything super-original — but it would be a nice, small addition to the site, I think. :)
an IPOD/IPAD app? That would be cool
This has been a Steepster Select item in the past

It looks flippin amazing, but I don’t have an Ipod Touch. :(
I really want an iPad App for Steepster please….pretty please :-)
I agree – or at least have it optimized for the iPad. Steepster crashes safari on the iPad a lot and the rating/heating/timing bars are hard to get right with a touch screen.
Maybe organic and fair trade check boxes on the tea’s profile?
Not sure if this has been mentioned or not…but…I would LOVE to see a keyword search like in the forums but for your own reviews! I have found lately I want to search my own reviews to find a specific tea to refer to in another review – to compare, that sort of thing…I want to make sure I have the correct tea before mentioning it and usually end up being really generic by saying “another tea I’ve had recently” or something like that.
So…would there be any way to have a search within your own tea log!?
That would be GREAT! I know search for this thread has been meantioned- but not for tasting notes. Although tags have been mentioned (like tagging the words chocolate, chai, cayenne, and Smart Balance Milk) for a tasting note on Mayan Chocolate Chai.
Still very very much wishing for an advanced search option to limit search to my own cupboard OR tealog OR posts.
