82 Tasting Notes
I think I have about 2oz of this to go thru! Ack!
This was not good. I didn’t get any maple. It had a really weird chemical/medicinal smell/taste. The dry leaf smelled really good! I tried without and with sugar and the taste didn’t change. I’m not sure if it’s the black base or what!
Very disappointed in this one though…hope Snickerdoodle is better.
Sat down to a chicken dinner tonight and was looking for something quick without caffeine. I hadn’t tried this one yet so it was perfect timing.
The dry leaf smelled nice. As we’re getting colder here in Minnesota I’m starting to think fall and Thanksgiving! Once brewed I was not impressed. Heck, this reeked of cough medicine! I has a small sip, not impressed…another sip….better….another sip…..not bad! I don’t usually have a tea creep up on me like that. By the time dinner was done I’d finished half my cup and was pretty happy with this tea! Had to run to the store and by the time I got back it was cold. It tasted just the same and now I’m about to make another cup…or two.
The loose leaf smelled wonderful and spicy. The brewed leaf smelled the same. That’s where it ended though. For some reason it barely had any flavor. I added a sugar cube and it helped a little but I think I’ll finish up my last bit and not repurchase.
Sipdown! Getting ready for my trip to Germany, discovered I’ll be 8 minutes to a Mariage location! So…I’m sipping down all my Mariage teas so I’ll hopefully know what to purchase there.
The dry leaf smells fairly fruity. Once brewed it actually smells a bit of cherry like.
Doesn’t taste too bad, probably let the sample get too old. I don’t think this will make it to my purchase list. I get a hint of almond that I’m sure would be stronger if new.
Sample sipdown! Tried this one quite awhile ago but did not like it. Decided to sipdown the sample to clear out my cupboard. I liked it much better this time, but it definitely needs sugar.
The last little bit I combined with the last bit of my pumpkin chai…didn’t need sugar that time.
Trying to sipdown a lot of my smaller samples. I leave for Germany on Sunday and plan to bring back lots of tea! The last time I went, 4 years ago I had just started drinking tea so I didn’t know what I liked. Decided to christen my new 300ml glass teapot with this sample. I’ve had it for a LONG time so I’m not expecting this to be really strong.
I’m not a huge fan of almond (most companies overdo it). The dry leaf smells really good!
Brews up a nice dark pinkish orange. Tastes a bit heavy on the hibiscus with a nutty tone. I probably don’t get much almond since it’s and old sample. I do get fruitiness though too. Will have one more cup to finish this off.
Cold brewed this one for about two days. Yum!!!
Has a bit of fakey taste in the background but I can ignore that. I don’t even need sugar with this one so it’s perfect for the summer. I might NEED to order more. I can tell this 250g is going to go fast.
Tried this hot when I first bought it and it was BAD! So….now that it’s summer it’s time to cold brew teas I don’t like. Go figure, this isn’t bad iced! I still have about 3oz left along with some in bags so this’ll probably go quickly this summer. Yum!
Sorry to hear that you didn’t like this one..:(… If you see something in my cupboard of interest, I’d be willing to swap for some, though!…I have yet to try this.
LOL – I think Maple Sugar is one of the worst teas I’ve tried. I agree with you Darby, it has a weird “chemical/medicinal smell/taste”. It contains monk fruit (a sweetener), and I think that is the culprit. I’ve tried a sample of monk fruit (sugar) at a farmer’s market, and it is crazy sweet with the strangest aftertaste.
